Richlands has the best band around here.
We'll be real good this year. Not saying we aren't. We ain't what we were back in the early 90s but we're getting rid of the individual mistakes.
-
-
I'm one of the only Powell Valley people on here so ya mind if I help with that one?
-
Next time I see them people I'll tell them you said hey.

I believe we (PV) are hosting this year's jamboree.
The jamboree will have Powell Valley, Gate City, Christiansburg, and Lebanon.
-
The LPD will probably look like
Appalachia
John I Burton
Pound
Clintwood
It would probably move Powell Valley, Gate City, JJ Kelly, and Coeburn into AA.
I think if they do it, take Lee High out of Highlands and put them in a district with Powell Valley, Gate City, JJ Kelly, possibly Coeburn, Lebanon, and Virginia High.
-
John I. Burton Raiders is one of those teams who always talk the talk and don't end up walking the walk.
When we played Giles for half state, they talked too much trash to back it up.
Pound Wildcats usually have some people come on the LPD forum almost every preseason and hype their team up so much as if they'd beat Gate City or something.
-
For Powell Valley it's from Big Stone Gap to Jackson, KY to play Breathitt County.
-
8/26/05 vs. Lee High
9/2/05 vs. Seymour, TN
9/9/05 at Breathitt, County KY
9/16/05 at Pound
9/23/05 vs. John I. Burton
9/30/05 at Clintwood
10/7/05 OPEN
10/14/05 at J.J. Kelly
10/21/05 vs. Gate City
10/28/05 at Coeburn
11/4/05 vs. Appalachia
I think somebody made a mistake when the schedule said we played at Clintwood because we played at Clintwood last year. I think that might be a mistake.
The game against Seymour, TN should be a good one. They come to us. I can imagine going down near Pigeon Forge for a football game.
-
-
Don't quote me but I also heard something about Pound who is d1 moving to d2. Didn't think Pound was that big.
-
Only change is Seymour, TN replaces Sullivan North, TN

Yeah we're all in Wise County. In Big Stone GAp, we'd have zilch to a dusting while in Wise, Coeburn and Pound would have at least 4 inches or so. I remember bout 4 years back one morning, here in Big Stone Gap, had nothing but rain. But in Wise, there was a foot of snow. Pound had 8 inches of snow. The Sandy Ridge area in Coeburn had 18 inches. Yet Big Stone Gap, there was zilch amount of snow on the ground. One year we got about like 12 inches while Wise had 2 feet.
-
Try going to Wise County. Here in Wise Co. if the school board even sees a flurry, we are either delayed or closed. Sometimes, here in Big Stone Gap there would be no snow and we'd still get out cuz places like Wise or Pound or Coeburn would have a lot.
-
Bout 2 inches or so here in big stone gap. Nasty weather.

[ QUOTE ]
Hands down its Legion Field. Take it from a player, when you can't hear anything but cow bells and ppl screaming their lungs out and you can't even hear anything the QB says in a high school stadium, then thats pretty tough.
[/ QUOTE ] They also use that train horn.

My mistake. It's Keokee not Karaoke. LOL
-
The contending could happen if you all combined with Grundy could happen. Not saying it won't but when Jonesville, Pennington, St. Charles, Dryden and Karaoke High Schools combined and made it into Lee High School everybody thought the Generals would basically be the stuff. Turns out that team is pathetic.
