I think this one will be like the East Mont vs. Radford game. EM played their 1st good opponent and got beat. I think the same happens to holston this week. GW 28-14

RR could be the best team that Holston has played this year. The combined record for Holston's oponents is 12-27. Thats very poor. I'm going 28-14 Holston. I saw RR play Floyd and it was over at half. RR is weak but who really knows how good Holston is?

Close game but I think C-burg's D (for once) will be the difference. Weller at LB is very good and I think Pulaski will find it hard to score.

Northside.....nothing more to see here folks.

Richlands will play Cave Spring. Winner gets Brookeville or Northside in the semis. Salem could very well end up at VT if they can win region IV and beat Amherst.

Cave seems to be the favorite in my mind. They just beat a very good Northside team. I predict the winner of the regin will face Northside or Brookville in the semis. Some very interesting matchups in the playoffs this year.

C-burg has a potential D1 linebacker in Zach Weller and he made it very hard for Floyd County to run the ball on opening night. Bassett is way down this year and Patrick is without John Harris. Carroll will have a brutal time trying to run the ball against the Blue Demons. C-burg is big and quick up front. C-burg 35-7.

600 plus yards is impressive but they have not played the competition they will see in the River Ridge. Get 300 on Salem and then I'm impressed.

How good are they this year? I know they lost to Bassett by 1 and then beat Patrick by 1. Anyone seen them play?

Floyd scrimmaged Cave Spring. Floyd has beaten them for the last few years. Not this year. Cave has good size and a fast defense. They run a spread no huddle and the qb is good. Fast and accurate. Their runnings backs weren't outstanding. They beat Floyd pretty good. Floyd all but beat C-burg this past Friday. 17-14 OT. I think Cave is very good myself. I look for Cave to win by at least 3 tds.

Well said but I think the Bobcats are for real. Floyd suprised me Friday night. They had C-burg beat. Very interested to see how Giles does against C-burg. Also wondering how Radford will stack up with Gretna. Radford has great speed. They may suprise this week. East mont has a very weak out of district schedule. They will destroy all opponents and rack up big points while doing so. Who knows about Glenvar. Potential to be a factor and also potential to do very little. They too play a weak out of district schedule. Good to see Auburn get a W.

I disagree. Lester from GW. Hands down. He doesn't get offensive stats but he paves the way for them.

Having a new coach usually makes for a tough 1st year. I can't imagine GW having a bad year while Lester and Atwell are seniors. It happens though. You have to have a good supporting staff.

If he's a great HB, then he will still need a solid line to make him great.

I understand that you can't enroll then transfer and enroll again in the same year. I also understand that you can't transfer in consecutive years. Anyone shed light on this? ALso, what position does this kid play? Can he make that much of a difference himself?

I think East Mont is gonna be just as good. Plus they will have played much better competition by the time the playoffs hit.

Seeing that they play a very weak out of district schedule, I think it is possible. Chilhowie and GW seem to be the only obstacles but I think this is Holston's year if they are gonna have one.

Did anyone get to see Christiansburg? How did they look?

Back to the topic at hand three rivers. I expect Giles to be good this year. FLoyd will be equally as good. Both teams will be very big and physical. SHould be interesting to say the least.

I can only comment on FLoyd. I have heard good things about this group. Working in the weight room. Word is the soph qb is going to be very good. Floyd lost the qb and nearly all receivers but I hear they will be fine. Most of the line returns and they have very capable running backs returning as well. Should be interesting.
