It happened last year, when Bluefield was leading the eventual AAA State Champions at halftime, the South Charleston players did a number on the visiting locker room and it suffered a great deal of damage. Repairs were made and SCHS paid for the damages. Not saying it is right but it does happen from time to time, football is a very emotional game.

The Mavs always play the Beavs tough. I look for a good game Friday night.

Heck depending on who is out could possibly make it better. j/k

Maybe he was misquoted....remember it was in the Daily Telegraph, the same paper that had Coach Gainer accepting a proclamation from the Mayor of Bluefield when the poor man has been dead for over nine years now. Both statements have just about the same degree of accuracy if you ask me.

My "player of the game" goes to the Beaver offensive and defensive lines...they got of the ball and whipped the G-men all night long. They controlled the line of scrimmage and controlled the game. Great job guys.

Doesn't the Tazewell County school board have a stadium they no longer use? I guess the Gmen could play their home games at Pocahontas.

I doubt the City of Bluefield would look too kindly on letting the G-men use the stadium for free for this game every other year....no contract no play would be my guess.

CCDS is a primarily Jewish school and consequently a lot of the players are of the Jewish faith. That is why the BHS staff agreed to the Thursday night game.

Yep I heard they got two first round draft picks and an "undisclosed sum of money" to go back.

Why would they have to be replaced? If there is a contract and Byrd does not honor it...Bluefield wins by forfeit. AAA points and no risk of injury to the players.

So they have three guys go thru a "dog and pony show" before the student body and the media and then they hire someone completely different as the head coach? What a fiasco..Quick should be fired as AD too! Nothing but a bunch of idiots if you ask me.

I would be willing to venture that if a kid quit when Coach Carlock Sr. was there that he would not allow the team to vote on if he could come back or not???? Once a quitter always a quitter was his motto.
