  1. Clintwood and Burton both lose a ton but will still be in the Region D Mix next season IMHO Haysi will probably be the early Div 1 Fav going into next season
  2. Anybody have any contact info for someone at Franklin? PM if you do.
  3. Well I do not think I have heard Clintwood desribed as slow this year and are in fact team wise one of the quicker teams in the area all 11 on D can move and move well IMHO it is tough to rate teams against eachother when there are no common opponentes Clintwoods Key games this season have been as follows Win over BDD Champ Haysi 49-7 Win over 4A Volunteer 33-16 Win over Region D Div 2 Champ Lebanon 36-12 Win over D2 Playoff team PV 42-6 Lose to D2 Runnerup Gate City 27-28 Win over D2 Playoff team Wise 42-0 Win over D1 Runnerup Burton 27-13 Win over D1 Runnerup Burton a second time on Turf 22-19 Win over CD Champ Thomas Walker 60-0 That is 8 Quality wins and 1 tough lose to a tough team The other 3 games were teams in a down year Coeburn (Win 48-9), Pound (Win 67-0), and Appy (Win 62-8)
  4. Well that changes things for them alittle.....Kid looked to be a top notch player I wonder what happened?
  5. If Lebanon can ever get there starting Tailback (Helburt?) and QB in the game at the same time I think you will see Lebanon turn the corner and become a team that can (and will) contind for the Region D Championship
  6. I heard the same thing last season and CLintwood ended walking into a buzzsaw Now it could have just been one of those games when the stars were just right and they were just really good at taking advantage of CLintwoods weakness last season. But The only team I can remember looking that good was the GC state team from a few years ago. While I do think that they did play over there head a bit and Clintwood played a bad game it was not like Clintwood was even in the game after the 1st 5 Mins of the game. That being said from what I can gather Vol lookd BAD in there 1st game this season but I figure that they will get things ironed out by the Clintwood game
  7. I thought Haysi was on a bit of an upswing for the upcomming year will Honaker be that much better than Haysi this season?

    Bath Co.

[ QUOTE ] Hmmm, I thought filming opponents games was illegal...guess not... [/ QUOTE ] I THINK it is but unsure what the penalty would be or how to even get it enforced
  9. Counts

    Bath Co.

Does anyone know anything about Bath Co.? Roster or any info? Bath Co came to the Clintwood/Norton game filmed it and left SO unless Clintwood can come up with some film somewhere they will be going into the game next week at a disadvantage
  10. [ QUOTE ] Where is this one at? Lee or Sandlick? [/ QUOTE ] The game is at haysi and win or lose Lee is out of the playoff picture
  11. Well 4 of 5 things need to happen 1) Honaker beats Tazwell (Should happen but will only come into play if Vol loses to Cherokee otherwise it will have the same effect as a lose)) 2) Castlewood beats Coeburn (Should Happen) 3) Lee beats Va High (Should Happen) 4) Beria beats Allen Central (Allen Central has a better record but both seem to be pretty bad) 5) Ervinton beats Jenkins (Normally i would say Ervinton has this one but Jenkins has been pretty good this year SO who knows)
  12. Not so fast by my calculations it is possible for Haysi to win there last 2 games and still miss the playoffs at 8-2 (It may come down to the Jenkins Ervinton game or Beras last game for them to pull it out)
  13. While I agree that Norton has players that can step in for Coleman IMHO him being out does leave a hole and his replacements WILL be a step down talent wise from what Coleman brought to the table.......As far as there best players goes IMHO that would be Stewart(QB)
  14. [ QUOTE ] I had my doubts about Terrell before the jamboree. I was pleasantly impressed with how he looked, plus a bit relieved. [/ QUOTE ] Not disagreeing with you but from the Norton and Kelly people I have talked to they say that Lebanon is a 1 man show on O and if you stop Musich(sp?) you shut down Lebanon. The guys I am hearing this from have been good sources in the past so what did you see in the Jamboree that made you feel better?
  15. Here is how I see week 1 (I reserve the right to be wrong about most teams till about week 3 LOL) Honaker 14, Lebanon 28 - Both teams return most of last years starters Honaker had a tough time stopping the run last Friday and Lebanon has one of the best running backs in the region Should be a tight game most of the way with Leb pulling away at the end. Appalachia 35, Castlewood 14 - Appy has me scratching my head a bit with there poor showing in the Lee scrimmage but From what I have heard Appy will be as good as ever and put it on Castlewood who I have heard was not overly impressive with there scrimmage with Battle J.J. Kelly 42, Twin Springs 6 - TS is not going to be very good this season while Kelly will be much improved.....Kelly has been a bit of a whipping boy over the last few years and I look for Kelly to run it up a bit on some of there weaker opponents this season Patrick Henry 28, Pound 14 - No clue what PH has but Pound SHOULD be way down this year ( they DID beat a weak Phelps team in a scrimmage last Friday which is honestly more than I expected from them this season) Clintwood 49, Coeburn 6 - I think the only thing that can keep the score closer than this is a clock operator with a heart Powell Valley 28, Lee 7 - PV just has to much fire power on O for Lee to handle Richlands 35, Gate City 14- No clue on this one I am hearing that GC looks really good and on the verge of a breakout then I hear that they look a lot like last year (A solid team but one injury away from being 5-5) Haysi 50, Grundy 12 - Haysi is looking VERY good and will really test Grundys Pass D they are a little small up front but have 2 VERY good LBs Grundy looked like the type of team that will be given a tough time from that type of team
  16. I agree, Haysi's 1st team scored on 3 out of 4 series they had the ball and IMHO if not for an INT (That looked like a catch to me) would have been 4 for 4
  17. I missed all of the Pound scrimmage and Half of the Grundy scrimmage What I saw was a Grundy team that had a tough time moving the football till the 2nd units came out. Grundys D did not look horrible but did have a tough time stopping the other team but probably nothing that can't be fixed Haysi IMHO looked good Powers was a hoss last year and looks a step of 2 quicker this season There QB can throw the ball better than Compton did last year and looks to be a solid runner as well. The Tigers however are a much smaller (size wise) than they have been in several years while this did not seem to slow them down on O I thought that they have taken a bit of a step back on D (But they were still able to shut down eastridge but IMHO East Ridge is not very good)
  18. Yes Clintwood has medal bleachers but they are raised off the field so the view even from the bottom level is nice. There is also a set of bleachers (also raised) catercorner in the east endzone which are great seats when the teams are on that side of the 50 driving that direction but NOT so good when the teams are heading the other direction
  19. [ QUOTE ] when grundy tazewell and graham drop to A which is going to happen unless of course VA moves to a 5A system(haha) what district will they join, has to be the BDD? [/ QUOTE ] BDD makes the most sence as things stand now BUT I almost look for several districts to realine themselfs if more that one more SWD team drops
  20. I have heard the same thing However I am also hearing that Robbins is pulling some strings and the QB will be there with no more than a 2 week suspenchion
  21. As far as I know Haysi is still looking for 2 games (not sure which of there dates are open)
  22. OK The LPD board is now back up http://www.hostboard.com/LDPforum/ubbthreads/categories.php?Cat=
  23. I have been told it is hard ware problems and we SHOULD be back up by the middle of the week. If it drags on any longer than that we may need to move the board but that would be up to Rocketer
  24. I am going to disagree with SEVERAL of your picks #1 I look for Norton to tumbel a bit next year (Replaceing 4 multi year starters on the O line will be an issue) #2 GC Bounces back next season and will be the top team in the CMD #3 As much as I would love to see Coeburn come in and win the Cumberland next season they are loseing a ton off a team that lost to several of these CD team this year I look for Coeburn to finish no higher than 3rd and probably 4th #4 While I try to never count out Haysi I find it hard to belive that they can beat Honaker(who is ruturning most of this years starters) next season given the players that they are loseing to graduation.
  25. Hard fought game at Sandlick neither team brought there A game but both played hard. Clintwood was able to neutralize Powers and only gave up 1 BIG play. Special teams play was the difference as Clintwood was able to return the second half kickoff for a TD and put enough pressure on Owens to force a missed a PAT that would have tied the ball game with a min left in the 4th. IMHO After Clintwoods 18 play 96 yard scoring drive in the 1st/2nd qtr in which Clintwood mixed a verity of run and pass plays VERY well Clintwood really went into a shell on Offence and was ultra conservative and honestly looked like they were milking the clock the whole 2nd half. Haysi also had 2 turnovers that really flipped field possion.
