Chilhowie had a chance to kick a 20 yard FG with about 6 minutes left in the game and went for it. Direct snapped it to Strugill while the QB just shifted to the side and did nothing. Their kicker has won them 2 games this year why not give him another shot. Then in over time pre snap penalties and 2 negative runs out them in 3rd and 4th in long. Poor end of game management IMO but congrats to Twin springs for the come back.
With HS rules I didn’t completely disagree with the call. He had also shanked a short FG attempt to end the first half that didn’t make it to the crossbar. Miss it there and TS gets the ball at the 20 instead of inside the 10. That being said not sure why Chilhowie got away from the counters that got them to that point on the field when they got to the 10.
Coach Rhoads livid and this one has been some 1-sided reffing-several holds not called and RC gets a safety 6-2. Wow even the announcers on radio questioning calls.

My guess is they are putting it where land is accessible and where its convenient to as much of the county population as possible. Thats just a guess as I dont know Buchanon County that well. That being said there are kids who ride the bus for an hour and a half going to Rye Cove and its 68 years old for the current school building. Why is it where its at? Its where the land was already owned by the school system and the largest part of the population was at the time. In hindsight moving it to Duffield would have been much better for drive time for what became the school enrollment.

Buchanon County has had an opportunity to consolidate and build a new school for sometime but hasn’t dotted all the Is and crossed all the Ts it seems. ‘Mainly from people in the county who want to stop it it seems but obviously it is needed for the county as enrollment continues to dwindle.

Running the ball, Anderson is the clear winner. I'm not sure I would agree with the accuracy statement. Sykes never got good varsity reps last year, but in JV he looked phenomenal. Big arm and very accurate.
Im referring to last year in the preseason practices.
I can't argue with any of that, but most of our thoughts are based on last year. I know that Anderson is killing it this year at QB, but having another athlete like Sykes on the team would have only helped.
In some form or fashion, there had to be room for both of them this year, and there certainly would have been a place for Sykes next year.
I’m sure Union would have loved to have had Sykes still in the wings. That being said my source said last year Sykes had a bigger arm but wasn’t more accurate than Anderson and Anderson is a lot more dynamic with the ball so it was a no brainer last year.
Union people still scratching their heads on that one.
I can understand why some do, but they really shouldn't be. Anderson today is just as good of a passer as Sykes, possibly better and is a lot more dynamic with the ball in his hands. DB is 6A but DB isnt some top tier football program. They are basically irrelevant in NET if not for their enrollment.
And from what my dad says in playing against him its hard to tell what Marsee's record would have been if there had been a 3 point line. Marsee was 6-4 but played G and hitting shots just inside halfcourt was nothing for him.
