Graham's problems all year have been defense,and in particular the installation of the 53 defense. I guess not a sole here noticed Graham changed defenses back to the old 22. This game wasn't officiating, it wasnt mental mistakes it wasnt anything but good old fashioned Graham defense. Been a long time since we won a game that way. It wasn't a fluke,and if this team gets its collective head screwed on right they could be a tough out in the playoffs.

Can run all over the state of West Virginia to show highlights of every team within a 4 hour radius......
but they can't drive up 77 for 45 minutes to Fort chiswell to show highlights of a hometown team? 

As a neutral observer to the game last night, I do root for the Fort, but my heart lies deep in southwest Virginia in Lee county...and no not Lee high....lol.  From my observation, the coach that some of you criticized before this game prepared this team for THIS game and knew exactly what it would take to win the game.   It was very evident on the field from the first play from scrimmage.  He had his players buy into the old style of punch them hard in the face 3 or 4 times from the start and the rest will take care of itself.   G-men came out swinging hard and caught the Fort sitting back on their heels thinking this was going to be another cake walk like most of their games have been all year.  This is not just something that happens, there had to have been some hard coaching for a team to come out with that attitude and execute it to perfection like it was done last night.
G-men played with ALOT of heart and determination.   They were playing to win and the fort came into the game playing not to lose......I do have to say this, the umpires IMO did help graham deliver a couple of those punches in the face....but it is what it is.....there has NEVER been a hs football game called perfect and never will be....lol
Now for the future...for Graham, if they can take this attitude they had last night into every game from hear on out, there can be a lot of positives in the future.   For the Fort...I hope they learned a valuable lesson last night....you have to be ready for anything to stay on the run that they are on...I am glad they have the opportunity to learn that lesson now instead of 2 or 3 weeks from now in the playoffs...because it would be a much harder lesson to learn then instead of now.  With the stellar job that Coach James has done with the Fort, maybe he learned a valuable lesson last night about preparation that will be vital in the upcoming weeks...

So are you going to cut us all a check or what with that life savings or what?

Well, Fort will have to score at least 72 in order to beat Graham by 60 as some have predicted....

The biggest change that I see in the G-Men is character.  They aren't being told they aren't good enough or criticized or ridiculed after a performance.  They are being treated like young men and his whole philosophy is building "men of character".. I have been guilty of proclaiming Graham to be a great football team before the season begins...but I believe that this man is doing a whole lot more for these young men in preparing them for their future then the previous coaching staff....the heck with win-loss record.  I admire that he has faith in his team.  What do you expect him to say?.... "I hope we can keep it under 60?"....come on......

if people do not like what he is saying or doing maybe everyone can ask doug marrs to come back to graham as head coach.

No coach, anywhere, will say or do everything that the fans expect and/or want. IMO ... Williams has taken the GHS program and certainly turned it around in a positive manner. Many of us, including me, have been somewhat disappointed this year; however, my expectations may have been just a little too high for what actually makes up the Graham team talent wise. I was there two years ago when no one gave Graham a chance against Fort Chiswell. I remember the drive back to Roanoke afterwards as I took great delight in witnessing Graham pull off the upset. Part of a good coach's job is making his team believe that they can win. With the Marrs regime this belief did not exist for the team or the Virginia side fan base.
 
I do not think that Graham will upset Fort Chiswell this time around. However, I did not think that Graham would defeat Bluefield last year either. Anything can happen and I'll always back the G-Men! Just my two cents worth on the subject!

Absolutely....and the defense really stepped up in the 2nd half...I thought Grayson was going to run away with it after they waltzed down the field with ease to end the first half....Proud of the way the Defense stepped it up.... very encouraging sign for the G-Men.

If we're going by stats....then Graham's Colby Hill has to be up there too...  If the Graham D can step it up...they're going to be hard to handle at the end of the season.

Hopefully, the G-Men will get the upset ... and those power points.

I have seen graham play this year and I was very impressed with their offense....those 2 RB's really run hard and the QB looked pretty good the game I saw. Giles does have a good team this year but with every single A team injuries could turn a good team into a below average one very quickly. This is one of Giles fastest teams in a while and their defense is alot better than it has been in last few years....lot of speed on defense and they get to the ball quickly and numerous people. I think this will be a very good game and if either team don't bring their A game they will be on the losing side. I can't wait...so glad to have Graham back on the schedule....

Anybody think that Graham has a shot to knock off undefeated and #1 ranked Giles (in the power ratings) in D-2 West? 
 
     It will be a very tough matchup for Graham IMO.  Giles has knocked off some quality D-4 opponents in Christiansburg and Blacksburg.  They run the single wing which is extremely difficult to defend...  Graham seems to be making strides each week.  I don't think that Giles has overwhelming speed, but they are very physical and extremely well coached and those kids have been running that system since they were in pee wee football. They will bring a huge crowd and will most likely have as many or more fans than Graham has in the stands....  This could be a great series going forward.  Graham made a great call in picking up Giles, a quality opponent.  I think they should have kept either Marion or Princeton, however and left Grundy off of the slate (sorry Lance)....

It was frustrating to watch.....especially the end of it.  I will say that Graham needs to get better in the red zone (or just outside of the red zone).  They seem to move the ball well between the 20 yard lines, but then don't know what to do.  Also, they have been gashed up the middle with running plays.. need to fix that.  And I hope they don't roll the QB out against Bluefield......QB must have gotten sacked 6 or 7 times against V High.  Lots of work to do, but it's early and they have potential.
