Chili, a tiny bit of mustard, a few onions, and slaw. Hard to beat that
-
"old school" football leads to more bumps and bruises but modern spread football leads to a lot of serious injuries. More speed, more space, more force.
-
"Enrollment at the school has continued to fall and is expected to remain on a downward trajectory. There were 793 students at the school in 2019. That number shrank to 551 this year"
Thats a tremendous drop in enrollment over such a short time
-
Abingdon's enrollment is around 900, TN Highs is what, 1,200?
-
Contrasting styles, should be a fun matchup
-
Cotton Eye Joe on repeat for 3 hours at a million decibels
-
Its a 4+ year rebuild at Lee. They are better than under the previous HC but they've got a long way to go before they're competitive with the top teams in the region.
-
It's a really good look, evokes thoughts of Nebraska or Wisconsin and as a Tiger I may be partial to Red/White
-
Marion dominating Chilhowie and Tazewell beating up on VA High were surprises for me but I don't think ANYONE thought Richlands would have a RB rush for 350 on GC
-
I'm watching because the Honaker/Lebanon feed just went out, so it's bad but better than nothing
-
We can only hope. What's the point in setting limits if they're flexible? And the excuse "our numbers will drop before the next cycle" is bs, that's what mid-cycle appeals are for.
-
I don't think Region 1D has a favorite. Grundy or Patrick Henry would be my pick to be region champs but neither has what it takes to make it past the State Semis
-
You made this post after PH whooped on them last night? I admire your boldness
-
They demolished what appears to be a terrible Eastside team so I wouldn't put too much stock into that score but Battle did look better than last season
-
knee jerk reaction would say "he's just their 3rd Receiver", but if you look at stats and when he caught his catches he was a major part of their offensive success last season.
-
Don't count Union out, very physical group that will have some growing pains early. The past couple of seasons they've faltered down the stretch but I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the Regional title game.
-
you can either have participation or a thread that doesn't wander, but you cant have both
-
All the stipend does is help offset costs, coaches in Virginia don't make any money from coaching
-
Union is trying to beat JI Burton's Guinness World Record for largest high school coaching staff, they're well on their way!
@Jags52 do those 5 paid positions include JV? That's nowhere near enough to run a program correctly. Dad's are good to have around but there are inherent problems with relying on them to actually coach and not just help out
-
I've said for awhile now that they couldn't hang in Group 2, and apparently they know it
-
Amburgey has done a great job over there, has them looking like a legit 3A team year in and year out.
-
Central is in the low 30s and Union in the low 60s
-
Im a fan of traveling for scrimmages (admittedly never done it), let the kids see new areas and if you think your team will make a run get them used to traveling. After a few weeks of practice traveling wouldnt be so bad, although id rather go to a grid-o-rama type setup vs a benefit game.
-
I hear the Hurley Rebels are in the mid 20s, which is MUCH better than last season!
-
There are always a few parents that aren't happy, doesn't matter what's done.
Dewayne will rub some people the wrong way, but some people will love him
