  1. Is Marshall looking at him as a RB or a LB? That hay have been the difference in his decision, sorta like Bradshaw, if im correct he went to Marshall in part because he wanted to play RB and not DB. I really think he could put up some huge numbers in an offense that was more focused around him(not saying Richlands should do that)
  2. Good to see that the school banned the players from the first three games next season, I dont know if that is enough but that is a pretty stern punishment IMO. High school football players are only guaranteed 40 games so to have to sit out 3 is quite a few. Its pretty embarassing for the program, school and players families
  3. I really REALLY doubt that Abingdon will get to move down because of travel hardship, they have a much higher enrollment than alot of the schools around them and would be much larger than the currently largest A school. If the VHSL goes to a 5A system then problem solved, im convinced that is whats going to happen in the next 4-6 years
  4. m sure he will be on the field and I think that may bewhat keeps him from playing QB. It would be hard to put Bray on the bench to start a true freshmen and he is too talented to let sit on the bench for very long. I think he will be a real playmaker for the Vols, Wildcat QB, TB, WR all over the place
  5. Thats kinda what I was thinking, hes definately not a split end
  6. I think at another school he may of had a shot at QB but again Dooleys Pro=Style Offense just isint suited to his skills. I would love to see him stay on the offensive side of the ball and w/ UTs lack of playmakers early in the season and the fact that the Vols really opened it up later in the season maybe he will stay on offense. Maybe in a Percy Harvin sort of role, run some catch some screens reverses occasionally line up at tailback or in the backfield in shotgun sets, just a playmaker position?
  7. Good, I think it is definately a step in the right direction.
  8. What position is he expected to play? I know he is a great athlete and a special talent but he really doesent fit in Dooleys Pro-Style Offense which is better suited to power RBs and tall WRs. Wherever they play him im sure he will do fine but im curious as to where that is, DB maybe?
  9. I two was being sarcastic, should I have an lol at the end or an lmao? D@^N this keyboard and its lack of emotion! For sh!t$ and giggles just imagine the Falcons running a Power T based offense, now thats funny
  10. If the geographic regions were still in place then an equal 5ths setup wouldnt work but I think it would be ok is a state wide format or even East/West, also I dont know what the automatic power points are for the divisions(1 for playiong a D1 school 6 for playing a D6 school?) but do away with it, thus encouraging schools to play teams from lower classifications. Every 2-4 years or so re divide the groups, some schools would move up and down reguralry but thats really not a huge deal I think the equal split concept isint perfect and better ideas are out there but it is better than what we are doing right now. I really look for VHSL football to be completly revamped very soon. I think the East/West, hard cutoff limit setup that may be coming to A next year is a trial run for a system that may be implemented statewide in a 5-6 group system. Is the proposed setup official or is it still just a proposal?
  11. Colobro runs an offense based on strength, toughness and selflessness. How exactly would that work at Abingdon?
  12. Very true; family, health, etc all have a major influence on decisions like this. He may be leaving for a better job but he doesent strike me as the kind of person who makes a commitment and then bails
  13. Absolutely rediculious, like lance said do you have any idea about how High School football works?
  14. Congrats Coach Tester, glad to see the BDD get some recognition and to see Hurley become a respectable program again. Hope you guys can keep it up
  15. doesent make sense to me but whatever. I think he could have made East a very competitive program with some time. I wonder if he is moving on to greener pastures or hanging it up?
  16. I really dont like Honaker and not working their schedule around to help Grundy out is a pretty jerk move and doesent suprise me in the least.
  17. That really does make sense to me, the only thing I have a problem with is completly doing away with the districts, just because schools that geographically isolated would have a hard time filling out there schedule(Haysi, Grundy, TV, Hurley, Lee, Thomas Walker). But I like that setup. How about just take the total number of schools and divide them into equal 5ths or 6ths and there are your classifications? I know the A division would be a little unbalanced (500+ schools in the same division with lower 200 schools) but I think it would work out pretty well
  18. Palmer is a VERY good coach. He has coached at Ervinton and St. Paul, two of the worst situations possible for a football coach and he has had success at both. little talent, funds or support at either place and he has been competitive. He would be good at PH, he is used to making something out of nothing!
  19. WORK IT OUT! Districts may not be necessary but they are the way it is done currently and I really doubt that Honaker is trying to avoid Grundy.
  20. I have no idea what Haysis schedule is like this upcomming year but I would love to see Haysi/Appy play! Very different styles of play and similar in size(Haysi is a little bigger).
  21. Still knocking Haysi, the Tigers will be back. Every team is entitled to a down year every decade or so.
  22. Agreed, 3 days is not enough. I like the date, if you wait util its summer(like the VHSL all star game) then they are occupied w/ other allstar games and its too far removed from football season, that being said having the game right after football season hurts the players who play Bball. If the game was moved to the end of Bball season then the baseball players would be left out, there is no perfect situation. I would like to see every player get at least 10 snaps (excluding special teams), kickers and punters of course are bound by game situation in this regard. If a players wants to be part of an all star game and goes to practice then he should get to play. Where was pratice held for each team? Somewhere central to each team would be best(maybe Honaker for the VA team?) The NET team is always going to have certain advantages over SWVA, thats just how it is. Just some thoughts
  23. As much as I would have liked to see VA win, this game really isint about winning or losing but about it being an experience and it was positive for the region. Lets hope it continues in the future
  24. I got to watch some of the replay on CH11, Trey Meade is a great athlete but not a QB and the spread sucks(I like to spread it out a little but not the whole game). I assumed it being an all star game and the idea being to put everyone on display the teams would run Pro-I(balanced offense/easy to highlight everyones abilities), with some spread and some Power I / T? Just a thought
