  1. Actually, thinking back on it, it may have been more. It made Carroll seem like a short stroll in the park lol
  2. We played Lee when I was in middle school. If I recall, it was at least 2 1/2 hours on a bus.
  3. I was having the same ideas! Lol. I was also thinking, I can use my connections and the get the champion a shirt or something of the like. Ya know?
  4. Hey guys. We arent too long away from the season, so I wanted to judge and see how many people are wanting to participate in the fun. Im thinking of ways to make it a little different and fresh this year. If you have any suggestions, just tell me. :)
  5. I was just checking out their website, and while hard to really read, as my German isnt the greatest, they are playing in March on the day before a Chelsea football game, I may go to England to see them then see my Chelsea Blues play the next day. Definately would be a damn good trip.
  6. If I had the money, I'd fly to Germany to see it. I saw the NYC show, the first here in 12 years. And they pulled out alot more than I thought they could based on the pyro laws in the country. But the NYC show was about 70% of what the actual show is. Rumor is they are putting their last album out next year. If thats the case, I WILL fly to Germany to see them.
  7. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!
  8. I'd be glad to help
  9. Since noone would buy my motorcycle and I'm getting a new job, I figured I'd get tags put on it. Anyone on here know how much it costs to tag a motorcycle and get it regestered in VA? Someone on here has to know lol.
  10. You can take KISS in their prime and put them up against Rammstein now and Rammstein puts on a better show. The only reason they aren't big mainstream here is because our country's attitude that if a band isn't from America or doesn't speak English we don't give them a shot. They sold out 4 straight shows in Brazil last year, each with over 100,000 in attendance. America just hasn't caught on.
  11. They were just First. If the Rolling Stones would have been the first band to come from England with a different sound, we would be talking about them as a "game-changer". It didn't matter who it was. The first band got the credit. And that was The Beatles. I just think they had no real talent. All their songs sounded the same untill The Who, Rolling Stones, etc came around and they had to change their sound to keep up. (plus Lennons drugs). Im the ripe old age of 21 lol, but Ive seen over 460 bands in the past 5 years. I average about 2-3 concerts a month. Sometimes more. So I figured I'd put my concert experience thing too, lol. Best "Show": Rammstein. Ive seen Kiss, and they can't even hold a candle to what Rammstein does. Their show is so massive, it takes 32 18-wheelers to haul it all around. They cant even play over here without paying massive fees b/c their show breaks about every pyro law in this country. If you don't believe me, go to youtube and watch videos from Volkerball and the NYC show that I was at. Outrageous stuff. Best sounding band: Oddly enough, 3 Doors Down. Sounded just like I was listening to the CD. It actually kinda made me mad, when I see a show, I want to see a band, not hear the same thing lol. Worst band: Buckcherry. Terrible. Just terrible. Most fun: Doobie Brothers Band I've seen the most: Avenged Sevenfold- 13 times. Got tickets to see them 3 more times later this year. Loudest: AC/DC. It truly just hurt the entire show. Most energetic: Marilyn Manson. Hes crazy. Theres so many more I could list. Ive seen everyone from 70s and 80s bands to todays biggest. Its kinda like my drug.
  12. I agree 100%. I really don't like KISS. ACDC is one of my favorites. They were so good live in '08 when I saw em. Journey is another band I just can't stand. I also don't know who said it earlier, but I totally agree that The Beatles are overrated.
  13. I just don't get everyones fascination with The Beatles. All their songs sounded the same untill they quit touring and Lennon went nuts and wrote off the wall stuff (Helter Skelter still stands as my fav. Beatles song). I just dont think they were as talented as The Who. To me, a drummer, Keith Moon is one of the top 5 drummers of all time. BTW, I hate it when people think a drummer is good because he can double-bass as fast as he can the entire song. Thats not skill, thats stamina. I never really could get into Elvis, and I realize I'm a little young, but I was brought up listening to 60s, 70s, and 80s, music from my grandparents. I only really like a few songs by him, my favorite being Burning Love. If you're going solo people, its Michael Jackson hands down. As far as Nirvana, I don't know that they changed everything. They brought to light the underground grudge scene to light. (Which Kurt hated lol) And there wasnt a very huge amount of bands that spawned from that scene that lasted very long. Soundgarden is really the only one that comes to mind atm. I like Nirvana, I really do. But if Kurt was still alive, would they still be a band? I dont think so. The better argument involving Nirvana is: Was Dave Grohl a better drummer or singer/guitarist in Foo Fighters. But thats an argument for another day. IDK how anyone can go against this.
  14. Me and a coworker of mine were talking last night and we got on the subject of the most influential rock band of all time. When I say influential, I mean the band that changed the way new bands were sounding. Based on that, I say The Who. For their time, The Who were so radically different than anyone else. They were far more heavy than their peers, and with the coming youth looking to rebel, they were the perfect fit. Therefor I believe The Who to get the honor. My coworker says The Beatles, simply because they came over here first. But after the Who came around, the Beatles went through a noticable sound change. They were forced to because their fan base was slowly moving towards the Who. What do you guys think? I added in the Rolling Stones since everyone always says these three bands changed music forever.
  15. Guilty pleasure man lol. I love drumming to her songs. They are so catchy. I took my ex to see her and it honestly made me like her even more lol. As far as rap goes, I may get bashed for it, but I just can't stand Lil Wayne. All he does is try to say stuff as fast as possible. His songs make little to no sense to me.
  16. Its nice to actually have a discussion with someone who dosnt go off because you dont agree whole-heartedly with the message. Far too often now you see people getting offended becaue they dont understand the song, or the context its being used in. Swing Life Away is a great song, btw. It kinda reminds me of the area I live in. Its not too hustle and bustle. People do live here on min. wage. So Ive always loved that song. Ive seen Anberlin many times. 4 or 5 I believe. They have def. gotten better as they've aged. Ive seen Disturbed too many times lol. They are real good friends with Avenged, and tour together frequently. Im real hit-or-miss about Disturbed though lol. I listen to quite a range of music. My top 10 fav bands have everything in it. 1. Avenged Sevenfold (metal) 2. Modest Mouse (Indie) 3. Thrice (alt-metal) 4. Rise Against (punk) 5. Rammstein (german metal) 6. Blink 182 (punk) 7. Brad Paisley (country) 8. Foo Fighters (rock) 9. Alesana (screamo) 10. Deftones (alt-metal) That was off topic lol. oh well. I also like Jay-Z and Ke$ha, for what its worth. lol. Ill defend Jay-Z as the greatest rapper of all time till the day I die. lol. Eminem is a very close second.
  17. They do come off that way. They released a new DVD a few months ago with alot of documentary stuff. They addressed the fact that their lyrics do offend alot of people. They stated in the DVD that their songs are stories of real life topics. The song Hero of War, for instance, is about a soldier who has beaten people from other countries, killed civillans, and at one point kills a small girl. Then when he gets home he is praised for defending the flag. The song isnt so much just about American soldiers, but any soldier in any war in the world. So its not that they are anti-military. They say in the interview that they love this country, they just dont agree with every little thing it does. Which im sure is true for most US citizens. So you are on the right track as far as picking up their song meanings, you just dont know the story behind them. which is common for 90% of every bands fans/listeners lol.
  18. One of my favorite bands has always been Rise Against. They are very open and honest about every topic under the sun. When they released their album last month I discovered Make It Stop. It instantly became my favorite song by them. The song is based around the group of children that comitted suicide in Spetember due to being bullied about their sexuality. The video will evoke some odd emotions. Ive seen the bullying first hand. Watch the video. Just wanted to see what everyone thinks about the topic. Bullying needs to stop period. But this is just sad.
  19. Everyone always talks stories about "monster" catfish at the dam in South Holston. I wonder te legitimacy of the claims? I've heard that scuba divers looking for bodies have seen them at least 10-15 ft long. If someone could get one that would be a nice snag.
  20. I don't think anyone looks set to challenge Richlands in the district. Carroll is always a wild card though. Toughest game on the schedule should easily be Pulaski. I can't wait to see that matchup.
  21. Hey guys. No one that interested in it. So Im bringing the price down to 1500.
  22. Hey guys. Selling my 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250R. It's blue and silver. Got approx 8000 miles on it. In great condition. Tires are good. Needs inspection sticker. I'm at work currently or I would post a few pics. I'll put some up tomorrow. Asking 2500. Got a few people asking about it. Figured I'd give you guys a chance lol.
  23. Im taking Heat in 5. Dirk may be on fire, but his supporting cast is extremely spotty. Kidd isnt what he used to be. Neither is Terry. They both seem to have off nights a few times a series. Chandler and Berea are the only other threats on the court for Dallas. The Heat are one of the top 3 best defensive teams in the league. Look at what they have did to Pierce and Rose. Rose looked far from an MVP. Chris Bosh will be on Dirk for 75% of the game, but the other 25, LeBron will shut him down, just like hes done to everyone else. Dallas havnt seen a team like this. The Heat are firing on all cylinders. Unlike their previous regular season matchups. And before you say it, Im not a Heat fan. I like the Phoenix Suns. lol. But Im not on the "I hate LeBron" bandwagon. To me, the decision wasnt that bad. It was good drama and raised a whole hell of a lot of money for a charity. I still see him as the best to ever play the day he retires. No matter how many rings he has. You gotta remember, Jordan didnt do it alone. Kobe hasnt done it alone. The Spurs had a big 3. LeBron was doomed in Cleveland.
  24. Game. Set. Match.
  25. I saw this yesterday. Im going out to Missouri at the first of June. Im kinda worried. With all this bad weather and such.
