  1. Anybody catch Survivor Series last night? I could have pee'd myself when Cena counted Orton the winner. Not only is Orton my favorite, but I absolutely hate Cena. lol. I dont think Cena will remain "fired" for long. Hes too much of a money machine. Plus, I want him to be back for WrestleMania so my little brother can see him.
  2. They didnt find a weakness. They did Exactly what Graham did my Senior year, 07-08. They ran and ran and ran. Then once they had the secondry pulled up a bit, they went over the top. Its the same thing Graham did that year, and they beat us. Give Martinsville credit for running to set up the deep pass. Did it to perfection in the first quarter.
  3. I have seen 5000 people at a band competition before. So dont start that until youve been to a big competition. As UVAObserver said, go to youtube and type in DCI. Hell, Ill give you the link to the best show ever. Here is the 2nd half of it Highest scoring show ever. And, since "5000 people dont go to band competitions, watch at the 4:25 second mark. They show a show of the crowd, of around 20000. Also, I know of several people who have gotten hurt in band. Ive been bloodied by arrant flags, other instruments, etc...I also partially tore my MCL at a competition in Charlottesville my Junior year. And I know plenty of my friends who can say they have been hurt in some sort of way. So dont come on here and say people dont get hurt and noone comes to competitions. Also, the band played pre-game because Martinsville was caught in a wreck and didnt know if they would get here in time. The band didnt go to the Gate City and Lebanon games because Ms. WEBB wouldnt let them. Same reason they dont play much when we are on Defense. Ms Webb says its unsportsmanlike and refuses to let them play. Get the facts before you come on here.
  4. You can polish S*** all day long and its still S***. They overblew. There werent together or in time with one another. Everyone on here basically just spit in the face of any band member currently in band, or that worked our asses off in the past. In football, your out to win. In basketball your out to win. In every sport in the world you are out to win. Its no different in band. You go out and to what you have to do to win. What if every football team in the area ran the same offense as Richlands. Its flashy, but it dosnt work for everyone. I was in marching band from the Summer of 2003 to the Winter of 2007. I know for a fact some of the shows we did that didnt feature "rock tunes", warranted a standing ovation from our crowds, opponents crowds, and competition crowds. Im not sure of a night my 8th grade year, The Colors Show, that people didnt go crazy in the stands 3 to 5 times in the show. I just dont understand how anyone from this town can try to cut down the kinds in our band like that.
  5. Agreed. I wish I didnt have to work so I could come see it.
  6. As an Alum of our band, I believe their band was absolutely CLASSLESS!!! Playing the fight song while there was a moment of silence is disgraceful. As for the music, they are a carbon copy of Grahams band in the stands. Both schools drumlines play constantly. They both do alot of songs that Virginia Tech play. For Martins halftime show, it was pathetic. First off, anybody in the band world will tell you that playing a show with "Rock Tunes" is pure suicide in competition season. Judges are more apt to score a band that can sell a show with little or never heard music much, much higher. Secondly, they practice what we in the band world call "Park and Bark". That is when a band stands still and plays terribly loud. Their band had approx 130 members, and they moved a grand total of 27 times in the show. My Freshman year, 04-05, we had approx 120, and we had 113 sets. Thirdly, their music was extremely sloppy. The band as a whole was not in time. And in their final set, the lines were absolutly terrible. I realize that the football crowd as a whole likes bands that do "rock tunes" for shows. But if you look at the successful bands from the area over the years, they dont do it. Ill quit my rant here. But I could go on and on and on.
  7. He took his helmet off roughly around the 40 yardline. He then walked all the way back to the other 45 on the other side of the field before he put it back on. And walked by 2 refs in the process lol.
  8. The winner of Liberty-Bedford vs Brookville. Now, Martinsville were pure classless. First off, after the National Anthem, it is perfectly clear. Observe a moment of silence for the troops as the colors exit the field. As soon as the NA was over, they started playing their fight song. And the team didnt even come out. There was quite a bit of extra activity all night. But correct me if Im wrong. If a player takes his helmet off in the field of play, is it not an auto-ejection Their #11 took his helmet off after the Strong INT in the 3rd and was yelling at Strong. Jw. I could be wrong. Also, Im assuming the Refs had a say in the two teams not shaking hands after the game. Anyone got any info
  9. Very nice haha. I paid 100 for my ticket to Rammstein and to see ACDC
  10. Great song. If youve never seen teh live video of it, go type in Rammstein Feuer Frei Volkerball and watch it. Towards the end of the song they put on what they call a Dragon Mask. Its pretty epic. Its on the setlist for the tour they are on.
  11. I personally love black outs. And I think one reason you see alot of schools doing it is because the recruits love it. Sadly, jerseys can be a big factor in recruiting. And it seems that most kids today love the crazy colors and black/white outs.
  12. I pay 45 every year to go see Warped Tour, which is roughly 60-70 bands. 8 for $60 sure seems like alot...lol
  13. We wont travel to roanoke regardless of who wins the Grundy/Cave Springs game.
  14. I dont think he'll screw up again. Going to prision usually changes people. I believe hes seen what he did to his life and is turning it around.
  15. Post of the year. Plain and simple. If I were an Abingdon fan after seeing that, I would cry. You can make excuses all day long. But facts are facts. And those hurt.
  16. Kane. He wont drop it till Mania. Which btw, reminds me!!!!! I HAVE A TICKET TO WRESTLEMANIA!!! Just ordered it yesterday. I encourage anyone on here who can afford it to go jump on it. Its not selling out like usual. I couldnt be any more excited. Rammstein in 3 weeks. Going to see Avenged Sevenfold on Jan 25 and 26. And now Wrestlemania April 3rd!!!!
  17. You wanna know what I was expecting? I was expecting for our side to drown out your music, crowd, and band. And thats exactly what happened. We were treated to 10-15 seconds of the "Entrance", then our team ran out, and I couldnt hear anything but the cheers of the best traveling town in the state. I was also expecting a 28+ point win, which is Exactly what happened.
  18. My favorite golf course in the world is the one at Emory & Henry.
  19. Oh I know. We had some bad ones. I think it was just the ego factor. Everyone was ready to rub it in that we went to state a few times. I agree that people from Richlands have gotten better in handling the expectations and trash talk.
  20. I started watching in 97. I was 7 at that time. This year I went to the WWE Draft in Richmond and I went to the show in Charlotte a few months back. Its truly incredible live. The atmosphere is awesome.
  21. There were no mindgames. You came out to a S****y rap song. Nothing "Epic" about it. lol
  22. Anybody fans of WWE? Or TNA? I love wrestling and get alot of crap for it, but it really is entertaining. (And yes BigD, before you say it, I know its fake). Just seeing if anyone else on here likes it or watches it regularly? It would be nice to talk to some other fans of it without a fight lol.
  23. Sounds like anyone from Abingdon High School haha.
