  1. [ QUOTE ] Team Mickey-D's is STACKED... So, who's going to come in second??? [/ QUOTE ] Haha, I can't believe you are actually playing
  2. [ QUOTE ] so what your sayin is they won't be all that great next year? and speaking of future probly no one knows this but the maybe 11 and under carroll aau team. idk there 4th graders i'm thinkin won like state AAU tournament maybe national.. all i know is there awesome, i watched one kid mkae like 20 jumpshots in a row, maybe 5 of them 3's haha best 4th graders i've ever seen, there going to be good [/ QUOTE ] No, they will have a good team next year, but I don't think they will be able to win district. Maybe senior year when the support cast is better and Tj and Darrell have developed more. ...and Darrell, you need to convince TJ to get a hook shot, he would be unstoppable with that. and if you could get munc to play, with his height and strength he would be hard to stop.
  3. Dral, you and TJ are going to be juniors right, so I think you all will have a great team senior year. If I remember correctly, the upcoming freshmen class has a few good kids, and I believe the class behind that probably has the best kid that will play basketball at THS in a long time.

  5. [ QUOTE ] Did you you get anymore, specifically 1 back towards burkes garden from there? as for wynn peak though how did you get up there, do you know someone who let yall go up there? God bless. [/ QUOTE ] I have a lot more from every direction. I just took those the other night when a bunch of us went up there. It was around sunset, which may explain for the poor quality. If I am thinking correctly, looking down into the Town of Tazewell is in the general NorthEastern direction. So Thompson Valley would be South/SouthWestern diretion and Burkes Garden would be in the East/SouthEastern direction, but mainly SouthEastern. I haven't brought my compass up there in a while, but I believe Burkes Garden is pretty much straight down the ridge line. That information may be wrong, I really can't remember all that well. As for the dog, she is a nine year old pure golden, and is in really great shape for her age. She is used to running all over the mountain, so she keeps in good shape and always hikes with anyone who goes up the Peak. And on the permission question, well I just went up, haha. My Dad owns the trail we hike and the majority of the side of the mountain and jointly owns the top. We require people to at least ask us before hiking, because a few years ago people were taking advantage of it and spray painting the rocks and littering and such. I will try to post some more pictures when I get around to it.
  6. These are a few from the Peak in Tazewell the other night. I know they suck, but I don't really know how to work my camera. The camera is a Sony Cybershot (8.1 MP).
  7. My sister knew the #5 draft, Matt Wieters, he was a catcher who went to the O's.
  8. I am going for the Cavs. I hate the Spurs, too many foreign players.
  9. [ QUOTE ] Nobody was making excuses. He made an observation that two of the home runs would have been routine outs at home. Ron and C.P. Brown made the same observation on the radio. It's baseball. You can't win them all... but why can't we discuss a loss without someone from Tazewell calling it an excuse? [/ QUOTE ] and why can't somebody from Richlands just accpet a loss and move on? Prince made the excuse, and you backed him up. I can gurantee the players knew about the small field. The pitcher should have kept the ball down more. The field didn't cost you all the game, you all cost yourselves the game.
  10. [ QUOTE ] A short outfield fence, say 250' to 280' does create a challenge, but it works for both teams. The key is to keep the ball down in the zone and let the infielders do their job. Short fences are murder on fly ball pitchers. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly, what Prince and BigD said is like ARod saying, "I would have hit a walk off homer but the Green Monster was there." Adapt to the field conditions, each is different. Fenway has the Monster, Minute Maid has the hill, Coors has the altitude, Wrigly the Ivy and little foul ground. You have to adapt.
  11. Thanks Newton, I appreciate the insight. Field dimensions are part of the field conditions. Players should be able to recognize the differences in field conditions and alter their playing style. The short field is just an excuse.
  12. blaming the loss on field conditions? that sounds like Graham football a few years back
  13. VA High - 5 Tazewell -3 VH scored 2 goals late.
  14. Alright there Tib_Bit, if your savior Clinton was so popular, then why did he lose Congress in 1994 in the anti-Clinton sweep which gave the GOP control of Congress for 12 years. And really, Clinton, we were in an economic slide until Bush took office. Despite Iraq and gas prices (I will get to that later), Bush has done a pretty good job. The economy hit all time highs in the stock market under GWB and the unemployment level hit an all time low. If Bush is doing so bad then why is our economy doing so good under HIS tax cuts. Iraq I will admit that it has been miss-managed, but we are doing better now. Bush made the right call on the information he was given from the CIA. If you want to blame the war on something, blame it on the faulty information. Gas Prices: The current situation in Iraq has little to do with the high gas prices. If you really want to blame it on somebody, blame it on the Democrats. Yep, that's right. It is the Dems. whose pockets are filled with environmental pressure groups. Those pressure groups push the democrats to pass legislation which prohibits new oil refineries to be built or even maintained. In 1981, there were 324 oil refineries, now....132, yep, that is why gas prices are so high. No other reason. The "not in my backyard" policy of the lobbyists prohibits refineries to be built or even maintained.
  15. At least 5 more that I can think of, and that is just football.
  16. [ QUOTE ] 'If we dont fight in Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran, we and our kids will fight in America!' [/ QUOTE ] In addition to what James said, the entire reason we had to fight Germany was because of FDR's policies. He promised the American people the US would not be pulled into a Second World War. The Isolationism policy that he had during his early terms is the sole reason that the Holocaust was allowed to happen. Millions of innocent people were killed because FDR didn’t have enough guts to finish a situation before it got out of hand. …on the Fred Thompson issue. I really don’t know much about him except he took Gore’s Senate seat and that he is on Law & Order. I have read a few of his opinions on situations and they sound straight forward, but we all know how politicians sound before elections. From what I know, I like him, but the biggest factor is that he may not be able to win. The majority of true conservatives love him, but that will only appeal in the GOP primary. It takes more of a moderate to win the Presidency, which is why the smart GOP’s are actually cheering for Hillary above Obama to win the Dem. Nomination. The few people I have talked to that work on the Hill say that Thompson is good for conservatives, but may not be able to win.
  17. umm...not so sure about him yet but that may change I have heard from a few good sources on the Hill that he really doesn't have a great shot. Maybe as VP, but not as Pres.
  18. [ QUOTE ] i know for a fact Taylor McCoy and Cliff Scott from Graham made first team and Tay told me he was runner up player of the year... [/ QUOTE ] Thats what I heard too and POY was a guy from RHS.
  19. All SWD teams lost not sure about girls THS 2-5 CC 0-5 GHS 1-4
  20. [ QUOTE ] theres a diff. from bein flat out dirty and just playin th game [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, but the truth is nobody just plays the game. It is just whether they admit it or not, everybody is a little dirty.
  21. [ QUOTE ] yea... i wish i could see one great player that isnt dirty lol [/ QUOTE ] Exactly, everybody who plays has done something dirty at one point or another. You can't sit there and call out a player when you have done the exact same thing at some point or another during a game.
