Richlands plays Chatham this evening.  Any thoughts on this game?  I tried finding info on Chatham but all I could find was that their record at 15&9.  Anybody have some info on them?  Thanks

It was standing room only at Gate City last year for the Richlands/Gate City game.  Good thing I bring my "chair" everywhere I go!!  :)

For what it is worth, you watched Richlands play their worst game of the season by far.  Not guaranteeing the game against Union will be any different but my gut tells me you will see a different Richlands team than you did against Graham on February 10th.

There was only one JV call up that played last night and that was for about 1 minute of playing time.  The other 2 JV call ups did not see the floor at all.  The 3 players you mention are part of their normal rotation.  Last few games, Richlands has not subbed 5 in 5 out like they had most of the season.  Seems that they are playing an 8 man rotation for the playoffs.

Trust me, I would love to see Richlands win by 23 but I believe this game will be close.  5-7 points either way.  I have seen all but about 4-5 of Richlands games and have not seen Union one time.  However, Union playing Gate City tough both games leads me to believe that Richlands will not beat Union by 23. 

If they do, all hail your mighty predicting powers lol

I was at the RHS/VHS game last night.  VHS earned that win.  Richlands played pretty well in the first half.  If they would have stuck to high post action more with Ball and not relied on the 3 so much, they very likely would have won the game.  But give VHS credit, they had a good game plan.   They played their version of the "twin towers" and were much more physical than RHS inside.  They were hitting their 3's in the 2nd half as well.  I would say VHS hit 8 3's or so in the 2nd half.

To answer Hackers question.....As a Richlands fan, I am concerned going into Tuesday nights regional game against Union.  If we don't play with more urgency, RHS will very likely remain 0 for whatever in Regional play!! 

A little "humble pie" never hurt anyone!!  I sure hope the players use that humbling to motivate them for the next couple weeks!!  If not, their season could be done on Feb 21st.

I definitely wasn't shocked that Graham won but was shocked as to how poorly Richlands played!!  Richlands and Graham are evenly matched for the most part.  Richlands definitely has a hard time handling Martin though.  He is a good ball player. 

Graham definitely had Richlands number tonight. Martin was very impressive tonight. #14 for graham (sorry, can't remember his name) is quick and handled the ball very well. Especially when graham was running clock

Come playoff time (tougher competition), I see Richlands using an 8 man rotation more.  Like they did against Graham last Thursday.  They tried 5 in 5 out against Graham early on but Phillips started subbing 1 or 2 guys, especially in the 2nd half.  In my unprofessional opinion, Richlands needs to keep Ball or Phillips on the court at all times.

It was a fun game to watch live.  Quite an atmosphere!!

(as a wheelchair user)  The next time somebody behind me yells WAAAAAALLLKKKKK at a bball game, I am going to turn around and yell I CAN'T and point at my wheelchair.

As a Richlands supporter, it is hard to really know how good this team really is because we truly haven't played anyone so far.  This coming Thursdays game against Graham will definitely help to gauge where this Richlands team truly stands at this point in the season.

As far as leadership to finish the big games.  I believe if the "BALL" is put in the right players hands in crunch time, this team is very capable to win the close ones.  Ball is a very unselfish player and a great passer and will look for the open man, no matter who that open man is!!!

As a Richlands fan, I have never understood conceding the first possession to the other team.  When you have Scottie Ball who is very capable of winning a few tips.

As far as putting your shortest guy to tip.  That is exactly what happened this past Monday night between Lebanon and Richlands.  The Lebanon player was probably 3-4" shorter than Richlands Ethan Ratliff was.  When I seen him there, I thought for sure the Lebanon coach had been reading this thread lol.  The kid did however "win" the tip. 

Hopefully they will play this game with the snow possibly starting late afternoon, early evening!!

I went down and watched Richlands Wednesday and the Prior Convocation Center is a top notch facility!!  Not a bad seat in the house. 

I just wish I knew there was an elevator to floor level, I would have taken advantage of that nice brown leather sofa on the opposite side of the benches!!  lol

To answer City of Raven's question.  Yes, Richlands plays tomorrow at 3.

Richlands played great for 3 quarters and then got away from what got them the 10 point lead. Offense was very stagnant in the 4th and D was very sub par. They let Johnson take over!!
