  1. Just for the sake of clarification, I am pretty sure Lowe did start most of last year. Fuller transferring opened the door for Herndon to start, not Lowe.
  2. Safe to say, based on my very reliable unnamed source!! :)
  3. Hampton game was intended as VHSL game lol
  4. When is the Hampton game? Friday or Saturday?
  5. Yea, I look for Richlands to be a little rusty with only 2 days to practice with the full team before their first game. 2 starters and 1 main guy off the bench just finished football Saturday.
  6. Richlands will be good again next year. They lose their QB and their top 4 wr's but I think Trey Brown will bring a different element to their offense with his ability to run the ball. I also think Horn, Brown, etc will step in and do well at WR.
  7. For sure!!! Obvious no call!! How do you call False start and mark off 5 yards on the defense??? lol
  8. All #15 was doing on that play was head hunting!!
  9. No doubt. He put a forearm right under his chin!! Where was the flag!??
  10. Thanks Ryan, lol. I totally forgot we have Blacksburg next year!!
  11. Marcum brothers were tough!!! Shane Wicks hit in State Semi against Hidden Valley was the biggest hit I have seen!!
  12. Wow, he is fast. Doesn't look like he is running that fast. Looks like the defender has the angle but he is able to get around the edge. Very impressive!!
  13. There has been a lot of talent come through SWVA over the years. A player that jumps out to me was Jeremy McCommons for Richlands. He was a beast at RB and LB. He had some good battles with Thomas Jones in the mid 90's. I loved watching Caleb Jennings. He was just so quick. I think I enjoyed watching Justin McCracken running the ball as much as passing. he wasn't very fast but he wasn't afraid of contact. Ahmad Bradshaw was fun to watch. As a Blue Tornado fan, I always hated to see Bradshaw get the ball. He was capable of taking it to the house at any time!!!
  14. Talking about painting the town blue.......I will tell on myself. When Richlands made it to state back in 06, I used some of the window paint and put "Honk for the Blues" on the box on top of my car that my wheelchair goes up into. Needless to say, the paint wasn't intended for fiberglass LOL. So when I got back to town and had washed my car, you could still see "Honk for the Blues" on there and people were honking at me!!! Lesson learned!!!!!
  15. Jackie's Screen Printing across from Schewels on Front St likely would sell them.
  16. Oh yea. A lot left when we were down to Union earlier this year. You just never know what will happen in a high school football game. Just this past Saturday, you had a few carrying their stadium seats heading to the exits with Richlands down 7 with 1:28 left in the game. The die hards are still here and will be in Salem in full force Saturday
  17. Personally, I am just riding the high of the thriller against Stuarts Draft Saturday. Lol
  18. I agree with Local insight, Richlands will be even more fired up due to the suspension than they already should be. Just playing in a State Title game should be enough motivation on its own but a little extra motivation sure won't hurt!!! Richlands will have to bring an A plus effort and ride that emotion for all 4 quarters and hope to cause some turnovers against Appo. Richlands hopefully will go into this game with a nothing to lose mentality as the big underdog. But I would think that how Richlands played Appo for 3 1/2 quarters last year should give them confidence as well. Very much looking forward to Saturday!! GOOD LUCK TO THE BLUES!!!
  19. Salem looks like a really nice facility. And as a wheelchair user, it looks very wheelchair friendly and the accessible seats are about halfway up the stands on each 30 yard line instead of down low like most high school football stadiums. Will be nice to watch a game without not being able to see because of the players on the sidelines, people standing in front of me, etc. At 4' tall, it is hard to see over anybody!!! lol
  20. I do agree that it will be tough without Howie but I do know that Scottie Ball had a good game against Appo last year. And he definitely showed yesterday that you can't underestimate him. With Howie out, Appo may very well be doubling to Scottie's side but that could open things up for Booker, Horn, Collins, Brown. Either way, I am so proud of this Richlands team. They showed a lot of heart and never quit yesterday. Good luck to the Blues.
  21. Those Division 1 "lockers" are hard to come by!! lol
  22. My intentions are to get there by 10:30. I wonder how far back in the line I will be?? lol
  23. Oh yea. I forgot the LB game. They had that stud RB
