From Andy Bitter: "In another move Tuesday, Virginia Tech welcomed back a former player to the support staff, hiring Justin Hamilton to be the director of player development on defense. Hamilton played running back, receiver and defensive back for Frank Beamer from 2002-05, appearing in 52 games. He made his biggest impact as a senior in 2005 in the defensive backfield, making 35 tackles, 2½ tackles for a loss and three picks. He was a seventh-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2006 and played 10 games as a rookie. He also spent time with the Redskins in 2008. A native of Clintwood, Virginia, the 35-year-old spent the last four years as inside linebackers coach and special teams co-coordinator at VMI. Prior to that, he was at UVa-Wise for four years, first on the strength staff and later as the defensive coordinator."
