coachm got a reaction from TornadoCat in Comments by the Marion coach in the BHC
Guy why does he get a pass. How many times have someone been hammered and not said those comments. They run roughshod over a weak schedule and he did not handle things well when they lost. How many other coaches that lost this morning said the same things in the paper? I am sure he was frustrated and he has did a very good job at Marion but that could have been handled differently.

coachm got a reaction from CHEEZE CURL in PATRICK HENRY @ CLINTWOOD
Obviously Clintwood is the favorite, THey have a good team and are very well coached. Add to the fact it is the last game ever at that field and it makes for a special night. I think the Rebel fans are just excited to finally see a good football team that plays hard. It seems like it has been a while. This has been an interesting read with the exception of cavdaddy who has nothing good to say about the Rebels. Good luck to both teams this Friday lets hope it is a good one.

cavdaddy remembers a trip to Clintwood in November of 2008. Clintwood 41, Holston 0 at the end of 3 quarters that day.

Howdy, kettle. My, how awful black ya lookin' today!
Real fans don't get kicked off their fans' websites for being deluded nutsos. You commenting on someone's fandom is like Bill Clinton lecturing on chastity, or Eric Holder lecturing on foreign policy, or Obama lecturing on how to spend 5 waking minutes without failing at something.
Mental illness? LOL. The only mental illness here will be your own after the ban hammer rips your skull in twain.

The only "daddy" I was aware of sweeping something under the rug was at Chilhowie two years ago. -

I think a lot of coaches today have forgotten about sportsmanship> I think they want to get all they can, pad stats make mommas happy but it would be tough to explain a top player going down at the end of the game. NO offense GW but it seems to me that the entire HOGO is guilty of putting it on teams when they have a chance. Not seen GW play much but over the past several years they have scored alot of points.

coachm got a reaction from falconfan1 in BHC article: SWVA football decline
Watching football for for over 35 years and I am near 50 the article was good. I think Coach Robbins is correct on every area. SOL testing has scared adminstrators into hiring what is perceived as great teachers. Outside of PE the best teachers are the men coaching football in my opinion. The demenads of teaching coupled with coaching long hours has caused many good coahces to stop.
As far as strength training I would have to disagree I think strength in not the problem speed is. Check the times from track meets 15 years ago to today, not even close. The kids we see around here on friday nights are big strong kids for the most part.

Seth Thomas is the kid from Holston. Tough to defend run or throw and is only a JR. He makes Holston go.

Battleftbl I love reading the posts on here and they amuse me. Your post is probably the best I have ever read. You get it and you are exactly right about Battle. I think from here on out they will always be a threat every Friday night because of what you described in your post. It is a process for any team to turn things around when the team has been down for a while. Great post and good luck
