It's apparent that you do not get why the band is at a FOOTBALL GAME. To SUPPORT the football team and assist in getting the crowd into the game. It's not a competition, for crying out loud. It's a good thing we the crowd and the team do not rely on the band for enthuiaisum.

I understand they have a couple of really good D-lineman.

Yes, my point exactly! Richlands will not take this game lightly and I do have to admit that the Richlands team that Cave will meet Friday is a better team that last years. But, so you can have your day........lets wait and see what the outcome is on Friday night. If, Richlands gets beat on speed alone, I will be the first to stand corrected!!

Come on give me a break, I'm sure our coaching staff and players are hinged on every word posted on this website. Try not to give to much credit to this site!!!! Our players will not take any team for granted. You forget almost everyone of these boys played in this game last year and got beat!!!! Don't you think they know what to expect and how to be prepared to handle the adversity of the ups and downs of the game. Trust me, THE TEAM will not take this game lightly. They will be ready for four quarters. And as for the speed, well they had speed last year too. But I guess, Lance didn't get to see it last year. Each level of playoffs will get tougher, but guess what it's the PLAYOFFS for crying out loud, its supposed to get tougher!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My point exactly, there are too many variables between 8th grade and varsity to automatically infer that you will have a great program 3-4 years from now. Like I spoke of in my first post, it possible for a crappy 8th grade team to win state at the varsity level. But, I guess Abingdon should a least look on the bright side of things...............always the glass is half full not half empty........

8th grade success probably isn't a good indicator for future success. The 2006 senior class at Richlands that won a state title, only won a single game in 8th grade. So, don't hang your hat on that evaluation.

Just be little more classy.......keep remarks to teams and just don't go there. There is no reason to degrade an (16 or 17 yr old) kid. You should probably just keep comments to your self, if your not familiar with the situation you are referring to.

That penalty was for unsportsman like conduct. (Called on Nick Wolfe #80). I believe he knocked a player down then layed on top of him and rolled him pretty good. A similiar call was called last week againist Bassett ( Called on Zach Frazier #50) and we punted over, however we were the receiving team this week. I thought it was after we had possession of the ball, so the penalty should have been marked off against us and we keep the ball.
