  1. Marshall takes on the Cuse at the Dome tonight. What is your prediction for the fight?
  2. I can't put two teams from the same conf. in the NT game. It's possible that they are the two best, but this proves the point for a playoff! I say OKST. to take on LSU.
  3. I dunno, were the kids just off or are you calling bs on some penalties.
  4. It's a great move. Of course SEC was number 1 on the wish list but unlikely. The ACC wasn't much of an improvement, and the Big XII is a great move. Geographically, it's not ideal. Competition will be a plus. I'm excited to see the change take place. I've always been a BE fan, but when all are jumping ship, you have to find a home or be left out in a messy situation.
  5. I've always enjoyed watching SEC football. WVU has been able to hold it's own against the SEC in recent years. I don't deny that WVU will go from being the favorite 1st or 2nd team to falling down the list, but if you want to be the best, play the best. With in conference schedule, you don't determine your opponents. OOC, you almost have to take a few easy wins to play the rankings game. WVU currently plays LSU, with MSU and FSU in future reg season games in order to toughen up the schedule. It would be great football to watch WVU in the SEC. Imagine every weekend, a good game. I have always been a Big East homer, and I would prefer to add to it and keep it if possible. But the SEC is very tempting. The ACC wouldn't be a bad idea either. The ACC is historically tough, but hasn't done much better than the BE in the last few years. The addition of WVU and another school or two would look. On the super conferences.......I hate the ideas. I like all of the smaller conference. If we FIANALLY go to a playoff format, I would still rather see smaller conferences with each conf champ getting in similar to bball.

  7. Sounds like too many people outside of the staff are putting their hands on the program. Never a good thing, but then again look at Taz the past couple of years. Tell the parents to come out on Friday night and clap their hands, otherwise take a hike.
  8. I heard PikeView had 50ish, Princeton looked like they had quite a few, and I heard Bland was in the 20's.
  9. Idiot was dismissed from the team. His own loss. The defense will be just fine w/o him. Looking for a big year in MOWTOWN!
  10. Wasn't Tate's GA experience in strength and conditioning? Compton seems to want to be in college ball. He's starting small. If he can do well with what he is doing there, he will get an asst spot somewhere bigger down the line. It's all in who you know a lot of times. I'm just curious when TAZ co is going to use their hiring policy.
  11. I heard Dylan Kidd from Bland that is to play for Bluefield College had a nice game going early.
  12. Once again, no dog in the fight. It's just my opinion. He may very well stick around and do great things for GHS football. I think he will do a good job. He will do well in the MED, but he will be judged in those OOC games against SWD foes. I don't know his personal goals as a coach, but if they are to be a HC at a big HS or college level, he will be gone within 3 years if he is pretty successful. I could be very wrong. He may absolutely love the area and stay and coach until he's 65. I guess we shall see. I'm curious who Taz gets. They need to move quick!
  13. Why wouldn't I be surprised? Graham has great tradition, and I just don't think he stays that long. That is a great position to be in. Dropping down to single A , playing in the MED, etc.. He's going be competitive with the OOC games and at the top of the MED every year. It's very possible to take a state title or two , but the road won't be easy once in the playoffs. The guy has good experience, I'm sure he took it for the tradition / HC exp he will need to continue on up the coaching ladder. I don't have a dog in the fight, but why would it matter if Taz had more or less that appy? I think they have less because they are going to have to move quick due to the season approaching.
  14. I'm sure Tazewell will try to match Graham's hire, but I don't know if that will happen. Graham got a really good hire. I found it amazing that someone with his experience jumped down to a smaller HS to take a HC job. If he has a good few years, look for him to leave for a better job a few years down the line. Randy Sparks would be a great hire! He's been the MS coach for a few years there. I think he was a finalist in the search at Graham. I figure they will look to move quickly since the season is a short short time away.
  15. Well this is my point. Graham has great tradition, but it's not like it's Permian High School where he will be paid to only coach football. My point is that I'm not sure he has strong family ties etc...to the area. I've heard he has a wife and children who will have to be uproooted and move, not to mention a job for the wife in an area that isn't offering a lot in that category. I hope they get who they want, but I'm curious if this guy takes it.
  16. I really think most are very pleased in the change. I think many would have rather done this earlier or waited till Holgs had his one year with the O. An ugly break up is never what anyone wants. I'm excited about seeing some offense now too!
  17. I think Wyatt would be a mistake. I'm not sure of his age or close retirement is, but I think they need a younger guy. Not a 21 year old, but someone who could get settled in and be there for many years. It seems like maybe they have offered Baker, but does the guy have any reason to come here?
  18. I don't think that they have named a HC yet have they?
  19. This along with the alcohol stories were trash rumors. Not many coaches that don't enjoy a drink or three. The man is single as well, so I'm sure he hits the town. He is a rep of the state / university, but if this stuff was all made up, someone needs stoned in the middle of the street. If the allegations are true, most of them are from the past anyway. I stern warning and zero tolerance should be put into effect. He breaks it, send him packing.
  20. LOL, well that may be the case. I've seen few incidents of that nature at Mountaineer field, when it did, they were escorted out just like any sports complex.
  21. LOL, really? The worst fans I've ever been around were the snooty goofs of UVA in Charlotte a few years back for a bowl game. This isn't new, they do heavy drinking in the lot. The idiots you may have been dealing with are probably smart a** students who can't afford too many beers in stadium. This will do nothing but keep some buts in the seats and generate some revenue. I've seen some rowdy fans and if they've crossed the line, they've been removed.
  22. Coach Sparks would do a great job. I've heard that he has a great staff lined up if chosen. I don't know if he will get it due to the lack of GHS ties or being a younger coach, but I do know that he is qualified, has a great staff just waiting, and will run a fair and successful program. Where ever he lands, I'm sure they will not regret it. Good luck to GHS in selecting a new coach!
  23. Yes Sir! The Heat have talent in those three players, but TEAM cohesion is awful. At this point in the playoffs, you have to be able to know how each other is going to react in certain situations and they don't seem to have a clue. Carless TOs hurt them a great deal. Bosh had a nice game, but the other two looked like the supporting cast. The Bulls D is unbelieveable!
  24. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/05/16/breaking-trump-not-running-for-president/?hpt=T1 Ah.......it was beginning to look like a bad Saturday Night Live skit! There is nothing wrong with having an opinion and voicing it, but some of his stuff was ridiculous!
  25. They looked great last night! The Heat looked good in the open floor with James / Wade running the break, but looked lacking in the half court game. As long as Chicago limits TO's, rebounds, and get the lift from their bench that they got last night.....Heat might be home sooner than later. How about Tahj Gibson's dunk.....or the other 3 ish they threw down?
