  1. As a dad myself, I worry about what kind of message that is sending to my boys that love football. If I signed a Ray Rice, I would be saying that the importance if winning a football game is higher than the importance of how we treat the women in our lives. Don't know about you, but I have a daughter, wife, mom, and 2 sisters that I really hope nobody ever punches in the head like he did. Again, just my opinion though.
  2. I wouldn't hit a woman. My Dad raised me better. I guess I can't argue that point.
  3. I agree, scum...I wonder how people would feel about second chances if it were their mom or sister getting knocked out. No second chances from me. Just my opinion anyway.
  4. Main thing I was trying to say was Bradshaw showed us all how good he was that day. He was on the field against several other D1 football players and I felt like he was the best player that game. He didn't have much around him and almost pulled off the upset by himself. Didn't mean to imply Grundy wasn't a great football team, just saying how good Gretna was. Tazewell had pulled within 28-21 and was getting the ball after the half. We fumbled and on the next play they scored. Got the ball back, fumbled again, they scored quickly again. Game over. Too much speed at every position and they were very physical too.
  5. That's fine. I agree with you we will never know. But remember Tazewell didn't have Mark Muncy at LB or fb against Grundy that game either. He got injured against Marion before that game and didn't fully recover the rest of the year. So...ifs and butts I guess. I'm pretty sure that was a good close game until the 4th quarter. Then Grundy pulled away. They were a very physical team for sure. I know there were some happy folks in Tazewell when the bearcats pulled the first round upset. Try not to be so sensitive big guy. It's been 10 years lol
  6. Grundy would have gotten slaughtered that year too. Gretna was absolutely loaded. Returned almost everyone from the previous year that beat Graham. If it weren't for the Gmen moving Bradshaw to wideout and him being a one man show, that score would have been embarassing too. Boy that was fun to watch though, Bradshaw showed just how good he really was that day.
  7. Congrats Redtiger! Good luck next week
  8. They are on the field. Several of them actually.
  9. Because when you fishtail on those dirt tracks it kicks the tail up the banking. That's how they are designed. Do you think he didn't realize that? He's only raced on dirt his whole life. Do I think he meant to kill him? No. hurt or hit him? No. But he did, he was in control of the car and he has enough experience to know better than play that game.
  10. Maybe it was doctored, but you can see the car's speed change. It kicks sideways as well. No excuses for Stewart in my opinion. Carry on
  11. One of the vids I saw had sound, he absolutely gunned it when he got close to the young man. Disgusting http://deadsp.in/grzCgy6
  12. He graduated in 1990. He wasn't on either state team, Tazewell's or Graham's
  13. Yep they are gonna be scary for offenses this year!
  14. Im enjoying watching him get an ego check for sure!
  15. Rams starting off just like I hoped.
  16. The Rams have bigger problems than at QB, I hope they draft or trade for oline and defense instead of gambling on Johnny Football seriously. Being able to stop somebody and protecting a fragile QB is the recipe for success in St Louis
  17. As a lifetime Rams fan, I'm thinking maybe Bradford and manziel can combine to make it an entire season, but I doubt it
  18. You have to be careful on how much you limit age though. What happens if a kid gets held back in elementary school for legitimate acedemic reasons? Punish this kid that has fought back and now is successful in school? It's not as clear cut as some of you guys think. Virginia rule is you can't be 19 before August 1 to participate in high school sports that year. They have made rules about holding back in 8th grade, and not being able to play sports during the second year. But you can't really punish the kids that struggle through elementary school and make a turn around. I hope this makes sense lol
  19. No decision on abingdon head coach until may 5th according to tricities.com. Did confirm Reed has applied for the job though. http://m.tricities.com/sports/article_f94947f4-ca99-11e3-a8c8-0017a43b2370.html?mode=jqm
  20. interesting update on this article today. Anyone that knows him can't be too surprised by this.
  21. Anybody know what the reason was? Timing is kind of odd, I bet there are some nervous coaches in the area that are hoping he didnt apply for the Abingdon job. Lol seriously I hope its not a health issue or anything like that.
  22. Very sad. Dale was a good man that touched a lot of people in the wrestling community all over the state. Prayers are with his family and friends.
  23. Yep the news just said it's a Kevin Palmer and his family. They did release the kid's name as well. Griffen Palmer. Said he played football and baseball at ph.
  24. Oh wow...I hate to hear this kind of stuff. It's heartbreaking.
