After reading this entire thread i have to agree with the previous posts from those who have pointed out that Gate City has some "bad apples". But everywhere i've been to a game in SWVA and Eastern Tennessee has those. I love attending games at Gate City, in my opinion it's the absolute best place to watch a game in the region. I've been there dozens of times over the years and never had a bad experience personally with anyone there. Any adult who harrasses the kids at a high school game, wheather it's the players, cheerleaders or members of the band is nothing but a loser, no matter what town they are from. Just my two cents...

Perhaps he's only considering enrollment numbers as Abingdon is a "big dog" in that area. But you are also correct. Not a "big dog" on the football field in a long long time.

I know there has been a thread up concerning the dates and times for this weekends games. From that it appears there is alot of confusion with what days each team plays. If anyone has a complete and accurate schedule, i would appreciate it very much if you could post it.

Best game i've seen at the High School Level? Easy answer... Appalachia/Powell Valley 1998 Both teams were 9-0 ranked 1-2 in the state in group A. Rivals only minutes apart. PV won that game 20-14 and stopped Appalachia on a final drive deep in PV territory. I could go on and on about that game but i bet there are others out there who remember this game. The Bristol paper had an article about it earlier this year since it's the 10th anniversary. Another good one was the Giles/Manassas Park state final game 3 years ago. That was lots of fun too.

I was at that game. It just wasn't Richlands night. Many turnovers and missed tackles. Heck, they couldn't even give away the half and half that night. If they matched up again, i'm sure Richlands would win. It looks like the Blues made quite a few changes after that game.

I believe Holston will win tonight but in a very close game. You guys thinking the district will be decided between Holston and Chilhowie is a mistake IMHO. GW might not have a win yet but they have played a tough schedule. Look for the GW/Chilhowie game to still decide the Hogo. My guess is Holston still loses to both of them. Still Holston should be a playoff team again this year. Hopefully Holston has enough to win the region. I'd love to see em play Burton or Clintwood for the right to represent SWVA in the state title game. Holston 26 PH 20 Does anyone know for sure if this will be the first time Holston has beaten PH ? I believe it will be.
