Does anyone know where Tihlee Anderson is going to college? I was thinking maybe Wise, Emory and Henry, Carson Newman. I know about 6 or 7 schools have offered him scholarships. Just curious if anyone had an idea?

Tihlee Anderson from Gate City would be an excellent pick. Excellent point guard who can finish from anywhere around the basket, good jump shot, and plays tough defense.

I understand what you are saying, but if there is no home-field then seedings for the playoffs might as well be decided by a coin flip or just a random selection. In my opinion I would say that most schools were just shaking a little when thinking of coming and playing at Gate City so therefore they voted for the neutral site. But I believe if someone doesn't wanna play at Gate City in the playoffs then they need to just finish better in the regular season. Home-field advantage should be part of it even if there are those that are afraid to play at certain places.

But like the last post I do believe that this is decided on either before the season starts or before playoffs start. I do not believe this is just something that is decided that week.

Yeah hopefully the region will decide to let the top seed have the home field. The highest seeded remaining team should get the home-field advantage. Without this there really is no point in having seeds. If home-field is not a factor in the second round then the VHSL might as well just flip a coin to see how to seed the region's playoff teams, it would be essentially the same thing.

I am just curious as to exactly why they played at Wise. I understand the fans being able to watch both games but no other region in the state does this. To my understanding it is not a move by the VHSL seeing as how we are the only area area to do this for regional finals. Giving up that home field advantage is ridiculous, just trying to get a handle on this. Gate City wins at home. But Congratulations to Lebanon on a hard fought game.

Gate City wins the match over Strasburg, 3-0. 25-23, 25-19, 25-10 were the individual game scores. Congrats to the girls for all of their hard work. They have 3 out of the last 5 state championships and have been in the finals and the semifinals the other 2 years.

First of all Bud Foster is an excellent defensive coordinator and I wish him well if he does go and the offense is horrendous but they are extremely young. And secondly this is the first year in the last 10-15 years that the special teams have not been up to par. Every facet of every team has a down year at some point in time. They are young and will be fine. Look out for the next two years because they will be extremely good.

However, though it does not matter if you are still bringing it in. All the rules state is that you have to have control and he did, it doesn't say anything about having to bring it in as long as it is controlled. How they overturned it i am not real sure though. It wasn't indisputable eveidence. The call that was made on the field should have stood even if they initially called it incomplete.

You are not going to have to worry about Beamer losing his job. He has done a fine coaching job this year with what he has had to work with. They are extremely young, the only thing I can say is watch out for them in the next couple of years. Last night came down to youth and terrible offensive line play. There was some bad offensive playcalling but despite that if the Hokies would have had some blocking up front at all they would have been fine. But that's the way it goes sometimes. Although OC Brian Stinespring did have some awful playcalling the last drive with a couple of minutes left. One would think that knowing how terrible the offensive line had played, with the exception of Tech's last scoring drive, that he would want to roll Taylor out of the pocket and give him the run/throw option. It would have been much more successful but can't go back and change it now.

I agree that the fullhouse backfield is Gate City's best setup, however they have, other than the last few games, ran the spread fairly well and moved the ball with ease. But I do agree they should have just lined up last night and gave it to Joseph Vaughn up the middle because of the outside speed of Burton. It makes absolutely no sense that they don't give it to him more. He should get it 20 times a game rather than 10 or 11. In my opinion they were just completely flat last night. JIB played an excellent game but I feel that Gate City made the mistake of looking ahead to the playoffs. Also, for some reason there was no adjustments made to the Gate City Defense all night long. 3 plays accounted for 90% of Burton's offense, jaycob coleman around left end, martinez miles around right end, and devin talley fake hand off and up the middle. I don't understand how the defensive coordinator couldn't figure this out. Put someone spying on the two backs and they would have been fine. It was just terrible defensive playcalling. However, hats off to the Raiders in the last game we will play against them for a while.

Gate City does not play on Saturday. They play at the regularly scheduled time on Friday at 7:30pm. This is directly from GC staff.

To my knowledge richlands is still going to be on the schedule because they are already using these two teams to replace clintwood and ji burton.

Yeah they had to because clintwood and JI Burton are dropping them from their schedules. I believe it may have been due to some reclassification issues. Gate City also picked up a high school in West Virginia

First of all, Obama has no executive experience to run this country. He has no plan when it comes to anything. He is, however, an eloquent speaker, that is until someone asks him a tough question then he can't seem to get a word out. He bounces around and tries to satisfy all people rather than standing up for what he says he believes in, this is the mark of a true politician. As for Universal Healthcare, look at Canada and the situation they are in. In the United States the average wait time for treatment for someone who has cancer is 1-2 weeks, in Canada it is 2-3 months. By that time survival rates drop by 20-40%. McCain may not necessarily be the answer but he definitely is the better of the two, and as for those who say it will be another 4 years of Bush, they obviously do not keep up or do research on their own. Although I do believe history will look kindly on president Bush, McCain has only voted with Bush around 65% of the time while the Liberal media would like everyone to believe it was around 90-95%. I am a Christian and a very Conservative individual, all I want is what is best for the country and the citizens of this Great Nation

I would have to say if Gate City can take care of the ball they will win by 10. Not turning it over will be very key, as that killed em in the Tazewell game. It will be tough to play catch up if they turn it over

yeah the '06 richlands team had everything and more. much like the '03 gate city team had. Now wouldn't that have been a good matchup if these two could somehow play each other?

Yeah he is out possibly for the season with some type of ankle issue from what i hear.
