Nah, Richlands will be horrible this year. And for years to come. Wink wink. Richlands has the talent coming up to rival the class of 2006. And that is saying alot. No McCracken type QB but a whole bunch of great skill position players all over the field.

It was some good games back in the 80's and 90's. The more recent games have been blowouts in richlands favor to say the least.

Did TJ even play the entire season? I know he didn't when richlands played at tazewell. No disrespect. just curious.

The days of 60 or 70 players at graham are long gone. That left with carlock. What a great coach and man he was. But them being a 4th or 5th place team in the swd is ridiculous. Have they ever even finished that low???? Ever??

Coaching is a huge part of it but just the tip of the iceberg. Facilities, community involvement, youth leagues, parents, etc. all play a role in it. Richlands has 700+ students yet has been to the state finals 3 out of the last 5 years. And the state semi's the other 2 years. Playing against teams that had hundreds of more students than them. Salem, Turner Ashby, Rockbridge, Monticello, and Brookville. And every year people say richlands is going to be down. Yet they have such a great system in place now that they just keep churning out good and some great football players. And by the early looks of it they may have one of the best classes (sophomore class) to ever come through richlands. And that is saying alot.

Big state quarterfinal matchup tomorrow in bfe??? Any thoughts? Don't much much about alleghany. Believe they are around 20-2 on the season. And they beat hidden valley during the regular season. They won the rgion 3 title 5-0 over rustburg. Blues will need to get a superb pitching performance from ethain keene and another stellar defensive effort like they did against hidden valley.

I concur also. And it's only weeks until the 7 on 7 gets a going. Richlands is having one in a mere 3 weeks.

SWD never stands a chance in regional play. Look at the girls side. "Mighty" graham who was blowing everyone out in the swd this year was shutout by salem 6-0 Then yesterday abingdon was "barely" beat by cave 12-0 Moral of the story, soccer in the swd will never compete with teams from the river ridge and beyond. Sad but true.

What happened in the Honaker-Kelly game? Last i was listening it was honaker up 7-3 in the bottom of the 6th.

Whether it be 2 runs, 4 runs, or 1 run. When you only get 3 hits in 7 innings you have pretty much been dominated by some great pitching and a solid defense. 3 hits isn't going to win you many games.

Abingdon lost 5-1

HV just got done dominating Abingdon 5-1. Abingdon only had 3 hits. HV had 9. Does Richlands stand a chance?? I'll assume richlands will pitch Ethain Keene tomorrow and if he is on i give richlands a good chance. Who will HV pitch?? They used 2 guys today. One for 5 innings. Other the last two.

Beyond shabby would be accurate. Anytime a pitcher only gives up 4 hits he should win the game. Comptons defense must have played hot potato with the ball all evening.
