HERE IS MY 2 CENTS To all Current and Future Student Athletes I myself bleed Cardinal and Gold, It's a thing that you grow to love, that you earn through hard work and determination. It's not given and I believe that is what today's young men at Graham have grown away from. Just because you have a coach that is trying to improve you as a player and a person doesnt' mean that he doesn't like you any less than the next person. Think about it this way, when some of you graduate and don't go to college, your forced to get a job and at that job you have to work hard to keep it, mommy and daddy can't come help you when the boss man gets mad at you. Another thing PARENTS let this man do his job, he is there to teach, not only the game of football but the game of life. I have never met Coach Williams but i completly agree with what he is doing for that program, he isn't taking kids away from other sports, actually he is doing parents a favor and making sure there kids stay out of trouble by keeping them in various sports plus his strength and conditioning program, Think of it this way, this man walked into a horrbile situation where there was no discipline, where weight conditioning was a joke and he is giving his all to put his players in the best situation to win, Thats right he is a coach and his job is to put players in the best situauon to win a ball game, not to play little tommy because his daddy gave more money to the boosters, but to play the players that have shown him 110 percent. AND FINALLLY It has been 1 yr. give this guy a break, he's doing the best he can with the hand he was given. Players step up, buy into his program and support your coach, your community and your school. A G-man isn't afraid of a little lightning,or squishy faced bull dogs, Remember where that G-star came from, remember who wore it before you. Remember the teams, the coaches, the 10,000 people in August. Remember it boys because it doesn't last long and before you know it your some old man on the internet wishing you had a coach half as dedicated as the one you boys have

To the safety comment, I was meaning that say you have a "Mark Ingram" type of player and you know he is going to be a 1st round pick, in the fans eyes you say play and play your heart out for my team, in the kids eyes he's thinking i'm less than 5 mo. away from my dream job is this really worth it, I'm telling you just let one of the big name players go down and we will be back to the way it was/is lol

I honestly don't think anyone truly knows what happend, but that's what makes it fun. I think without that game the rivalry would have died down a lot, round robin would be very exciting, i'd pay the money to watch those teams go at it. 89' went unscored on for like 8 games i believe and i would think the best matchup would be the 01' G-men and the 04 Beavers, i don't know that the scoreboard up at Mitchell would go that high lol

16 Teams would be EPIC, but also at the same time you have to be thinking of the players safety, not only would that play into a deeper season but it would also wear the players down, plus you would have teams playing weaker games during the regular season due to the playoff format which in return would just make this a who is in the best confrence type of system and no cinderellas. I think the 4 team sysetm will work for a little bit but people always want more and it will continue to grow from 4 to 8 to 16 eventually.

Graham-Beaver Game a 1pt game that ended in an argument from everyone. How can that not be on the list? Does anyone know if Cole still got in or not? 1pt and 1 final game. Also Graham upsetting Richlands in 07 or 08? But it seemed like everything bounced Graham's way that game. I strictly remeber a ball bouncing out of a backs hands on the goalline in the air to Tyler Barreras for a touch down. Also remember the 97 Bluefield team which was very special and the 01 Graham team with a young Ahmad.

......Or that we have the worst offensive coordinator in the country. Look at what happend, we give the ball to David Wilson and he gains moementum, then we pull him and bring in Oglesby with a loss then we're forced to punt. We never gave Logan Thomas a chance to throw for more than a screen pass. It's been like this or a while, this is why we can never expect to win big games. Our defense can only hold for so long before you wear them down. As a Tech fan I see potential but not with the staff that we have.

Graham just needs to take this one step at a time right now, they're starting the rebuiling process and it could take a while. Yes some people not educated with football around the area will say that it's a step down to go to A but I can tell you that D2 A is not full of a bunch of pushovers, there are very good, very talented and well coached ball clubs there. The G-men just need to take one game at a time and keep there chin held high because it seems as if we have a good coach on our hands now and he can do some great things for this school.

Feel sorry for the Middle school kids..... This guy seems great on paper, can't wait to see how he teaches and coaches the game, I'm now excited for the Graham/Beaver game and now maybe i can stay the entire game! Would like to know what offense and defense that he will be bringing with him. As for filling other coaches, I hope that he brings in guys that are willing to work together and teach these young men about the game of football and get Graham back to winning traditions. Congrats Graham!!

Coal is more than just gas, its many things that we need in our everyday life, but let Obama and our wonderful government shut all the mines they want down and when they wake up in the morning flip a switch and no lights come on don't come complanin to the dumb ole miners!!!!!

Hopefully whoever comes in can get the boys some new jereys, something that says tradition but looks up to date.

Dear Richlands, We hear at Graham want to win again, and we all know that your boys love to pretty themselves up with fancy uniforms and cute wrist bands and such so we have a deal to throw out there for you. Henry would be a good choice....if he had more experience, but you don't want to throw him to the wolves with the enitre community breathing down his neck. I'd say let him get some more time in the heat of things and he will be more than prepared. As for Wyatt, from what i know of him he is a good person but as for coaching i think he is another simple minded coach. He isn't very deep in his playbook and is very conservative. They need to bring someone that can implement a whole new playbook and get these kids on the track to success

Should be looking for coaches now, if they were to promote within the program then it would totally defeat the purpose. Everything Doug did at Graham needs to be replaced, I would go out on the limb and say that the entire coaching staff needs to be well thought through. Bring in someone that can better the coaching staff and not continue this misery that we in Bluefield have dealt with for some time now!!!

Saw in the paper that parents, students and teachers were behind Doug Marrs. Everyone I know is against the man and now all of a sudden people are for him? I know of plenty of times that this man has cheated players and students out of grades and playing time while at Graham High School. He is a disgrace to football and Graham High School. I will never stand for Doug, and had I known the meeting was taking place I would have went and expressed my opinions. Did anyone on this board step up and speak there mind or was Doug allowed to fix this meeting with the people he wanted there?? This man is a joke as a teacher and a football coach, and I'm not talking about the wins or losses..I'm talking about how a coach in high school should teach the children how to carry themselves in a manner that is respectable and not cocky and arrogant.

Hard to come by, as far as I know Ahmad has his high school jersey. As for the boosters or anyone creating a replica I haven't heard of it, But you could go online to Russell.com and create your own. Shouldn't be expensive as Graham's uniforms are very plain lol

Wow now that would really shake things up a bit, especially if they had to pay that money back. I wish they knew about how Doug has sent his family to nice colleges to play football but all the real athletes he had come through there sent them to slack a$$ d-2 and D-3 schools. My question is why not make Carlock Jr. A.D.? or make him the Head football Coach? He is one heck of a guy

Would like to start by saying congrats to Graham on becoming a decent school now. Now for what ive heard is that Doug is only allowed to teach english. Mr.b? Is the new A.D. O'neil is out and Stacey is the principle, which is great stacey is the best fit for that position. Now im not sure about the coaching situation but i pray to God that they remove Doug from that as well! Proud to be a G-man today!

The sad thig is that Graham can go 0-10 and Doug will still have his head coaching job/AD. It's sad to see that these two programs have sunk this far and at what cost to good players who are coached horribly. I would like to sig the petition to remove Doug Marrs from Graham, actually I'd like to sign it first IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. Oh well, I'll pray for Graham haha
