Graham is capable of playing good ball....they are just very inconsistant.

I don't know what the official line on errors was....but Graham had to have had at least 20 errors. They looked as though they had never seen a baseball before.

Not bitter at all. Just don't think he is a very good coach.

Graham's JV & Varsity both play AT Abingdon tonight.

Graham 0-0-1 Played Pulaski and didn't look to bad considering being outside only once. Still very early though.

Good point Hacker. I do know Tazewell played in GA recently and I've heard Richlands played in NC. Who funds them going to these tournys? Do the parents, do they have a baseball booster club? Do the schools pay for this? Just wondering....not trying to start anything. I think it's great that they get to go play...just wonder why Graham never does anything like this?

Thanks G-Man....I thought he coached some....just seems to me the school/AD or whomever could throw a few more dollars toward the baseball program. I know they won't ever see big money, but a new net on the batting cages would be huge as far as the kids getting some extra bp in. Maybe spend a little so the field can drain some rain water off. Just buying the team some baseballs is pretty sad.

True...and if I'm not mistaken O'Neal used to coach GHS baseball....or maybe he was an assistant to McKinney.

Not sure the blame should go completely to MC....baseball gets almost 0 dollars from the AD. GHS baseball is last of all the sports at GHS to get any $....and from what I hear, what few $ baseball does get, it sometimes gets taken away to go to other sports. Hard to be competitive and build a program with no support from the school. Also, the lack of an organized middle school baseball program really hurts the quality of baseball in this area as well.

Graham 6, Pulaski Co 6. G-Men looked pretty good considering they have only had 1 practice outdoors. Matt Morgan pitched a beauty and had some huge hits along with David Marrs.

FWIW...Graham's JV beat Abingdon's pretty good so the future still looks better at Graham than it does in Abingdon.

They have a coach. His name is Coach Dixon. I think he may have coached softball at Richlands? Coach Dixon teaches at Graham now. Coach Largen is still around, but due to health reasons he is unable to remain as head coach, but is helping with practices and will be at home games. Graham has a bunch of kids out this year and they have a JV team as well who is coached by a former BC player (Coach Hagy). Biggest problem for the varsity team will be pitching...or lack there of. They only have two returning pitchers, Matt Morgan & Dave Marrs. Looks as though they will use Brad Yost, Seth Gearhart, and Kyle Furrow some as pitchers.

Give Spencer another year to let his arm get stronger and he should be a very good QB...if Marrs and WeeCee keep him at QB.

If DM would get rid of one or two assistants and replace them with people who know football and how to coach, and want to really be there, you would see Graham get better in a hurry.

Congrats on signing with Carson-Newman! I know you will represent the G-Men well.
