Abingdon loses to Ridgeview. 21-13. Absolutely horrible clock management by Reed. Not to take anything away from Ridgeview. But that was probably the absolute worse clock management I've ever heard. Congrats to Ridgeview. Came out in the 2nd half jacked up and took it to the Falcons.

I fully agree about consistency and longevity. Alls well when you have the Jimmys and the Joes.....but what happens when it's all about the X's and the O's? Will they stay competitive when the talent cycles out? Same question with Reed at Abingdon. He's done pretty good for the amount time he's been there....even doing better this year than some expected (myself included!). But now that Colobro is gone and Sturgill graduated, how long will they stay relevant when it comes to post season ball? And this is no slap at the kids there now....because they've done a great job. A coach is measured by what kind of legacy they create or leave behind. 2-3 years just isn't quite long enough to measure.

Funny thing about recruits....it's not if the coach wants them, it's if they want the coach. I'm sure Butch would love to have him. I'm about as big a Vol fan as there is, but I wouldn't go to UT right now if I was Mitchell. Fuentes may get him, but it's not because he wants Mitchell, it would be because Mitchell wants him. My point is, who knows who UT will hire when Butch leaves? It may turn out to be someone Mitchell really likes. After watching the interview of Mitchell after his UT visit I don't think he goes to UT regardless, but until signing day nothing is 100%. The most important thing is that James goes where ever he can grow (physically and mentally!) and get the most out of the opportunities he's given.

If anybody else watched Channel 5's highlights, did that FG from Union in the highlight look wide left to you? The refs looked at each other and then signaled good. It may be an awkward angle, but I swear it looked wide left to me.

Just a passing game period would help. VHS played very well and deserved to win, no doubt. Most of (if not all) AHS points came after turnovers deep in VHS territory. The score could have easily been 20-7.

Not much to take notice of. AHS doing the best they can with the O they are trying to run. They had a chance to win it and bad clock management didn't help. 3:00 to go and they started at their own 21. Only had 1 TO left and had to use it after a short run. They got the ball down to the VHS 40 with :16 left. Sack. Ball game. Needed at least another 15 yards to even consider FG attempt. Union will beat AHS by 14 or more I'd guess. They just aren't set up to defend an offense like Unions. To be honest, I'm proud of the kids for being 5-2. I didn't expect that at the beginning of the season. Season only gets tougher for them now.....Union, Ridgeview, Lee. I think they will need to win at least 2 of those to even have a chance at a home playoff game, or maybe even a playoff game at all. The off week for them came at a good time...just before Union. That will help some, in a lot of different ways.
