Top 5/BCS Predictions anyone?

Don't be hating on the band XD. But if you think Abingdon's band is good, you haven't seen the VA High band, or even Battle's for that matter (This conversation has taken a strange turn)

That's a game we would've loved to have seen last year

It' be a hell of an ambitious undertaking but I've long played around with the idea of writing a book filled of stories of football in this area

The '09 game was good, if only for that 70 ish yd td run from Austin Johnson late in the game to bring the Blues back in it. Last year was just plain awful though, CS rb Sam Wright torched the RHS run defense

Oh and, of course 2011: Clintwood 33, Giles 28 (C'Wood comes back from the dead, makes huge comeback & then holds off the Giles insurgency by deflecting a pass in the endzone as time expired, in the state championship game)

In no particular order: 2009: Virginia HS 46, Graham 45 (we came back from a two td deficit in two min) 2006: Richlands 29, Rockbridge 28 (state title game, Blues stop a late rally) 2011: Virginia HS 14, Tennessee HS 13 (our first V-T game win in 14 years) 2007: Richlands 20, Abingdon 14 (Blues have frantic 4th quarter rally to prevent embarrassment) 2009: JI Burton 2, Holston 0 (state semis, played in the snow, Burton blocks punt into end zone late in 4th) 2010: Virginia HS 14, Lebanon 13 (Cats get td pass with 5 sec left to win) 2005: Richlands 23, Liberty Bedford 20 (Liberty fg goes wide right at the final buzzer) I admit I'm biased in my selections

Especially with the lotto money, Virginia ends at Roanoke...

Oh, my bad. We may have an off year this year due to our head coach, Mark Daniels, was pulled over for DUI and recieved a one year suspension from the administration and the VHSL

Certainly, we have an all-state pitcher, Hannah Smith, and several all-region players returning from last year's squad. Not to mention a future hall of fame coach, Barry Reed

RHS Girls Basketball: Proving that the Blues aren't just a football school

This is our first trip to the VHSL Final Four in 52 years. The last time we went (1960) we made it to the title game and lost 37-35 in triple overtime to Highland Springs. If we can get Clayton the ball in the paint and keep them honest with our deep range game, I think we may have a shot of winning our first state championship since 1927

Both VA High's boys and girls teams are going to state. Any other school sending both?

I won't mince words, some of GC's fans including their student section were making racial slurs toward VA High players and fans. Between that and the usual officiating problems and idiotic police force, it's another example of how some (not all, mind you) of their fans are the worst in the area. To you sane GC fans, are you just as embarrassed as I'm furious at these people?

Next year will be the Blues last year in AA. We'll call it The Blue Tornado AA Farewell Tour
