Virginia High official confirms that star running back Raequon Jordan has transferred from Abingdon to VHS along with brother. #HCFH

Ray is 4-0 so far pitching wise.  3-hitter against Tenn. High; one-hitter against East Rutherford (NC); one-hitter against Lebanon last night, struck out 17 also; "worst" outing was against Nation Ford (SC) where he gave up 7 hits, allowed one run, 8 K's.

Va High won their tourney bracket today by defeating Robinson, VA 14-4. My nephew Austin Ray smacked a grand slam in the win. In the tourney, he went 2-0 on the mound and had 2 HRs and quite a few RBIs. It's hard to be a Bearcat fan, but I will be for baseball this spring only!

I heard that Thurman loved his time at VHS and SWVA so much that he is applying to coach at JSB! 
 
Truthfully, I would not wish that on anyone...except maybe Tennessee High.

Well Dan River is probably out...their best player dislocated his ankle and is done for the season.  Just give the trophy to my beloved Bearcats and let's get on with baseball season!!

I wasn't trying to diminish the year they have had. They have had a great year and will hopefully make a deep run I'm swva all the way will be rooting for all local teams. I was actually just trying to take up for reed a little bit I don't think he is as bad a coach as people on here say.
 
 
As for baseball... There is more on the way. But heck I'm sure Daniels has a notebook on all of the talent we have. We will continue to win with "ours" and I guess va high will win with "ours" too. Hey did Daniels send coach harding a state ring? Because he deserved one!

V-Cats...I played for Ballard Lee so I expect a lot out of a coach.  I do not think we have had a coach of his caliber since.  Reed is not as bad as everyone says (myself included). 

I miss Wayne Rasnick, but Barry's not that bad

Moving up the ladder each time. That's what you do as an assistant. You should be thankful for the year he gave you guys.
 
Wish him all the best up there. He will have some challenges, but he can do it if given time.

GRAHAM - COULD BE THE CINDERELLA TEAM COMING OUT OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA WITH SOME EXPLOSIVE AND UNDERRATED GUARD PLAY. TEAM IS FLYING WAY UNDER THE RADAR FOR MOST.  NO ONE KNOWS WHAT WILL BE COMING OUT OF BLUEFIELD, VIRGINIA. 
 
GLENVAR -  THE SURPRISE TEAM FROM CONFERENCE 38 WHO HAS AN UPSET OF THE HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE AND HIGHLY RANKED RADFORD BOBCATS ON THEIR RESUME.  COULD BE A POSSIBLE TEAM FLYING UNDER THE RADAR IN THIS YEARS TOURNAMENT.
 
UNION -  HAS SOME VERY NICE ATHLETES.  HAS SOME VERY BAD LOSSES....BUT GOOD ENOUGH TO GET OUT OF THEIR WEAK CONFERENCE.  TO QUOTE THE GREAT COACH BOBBY KNIGHT, "NEVER HAS SO LITTLE BEEN GOT OUT OF SO MUCH.".
 
RICHLANDS - THE AIR HAS GONE OUT OF THE FAB 5 FRESHMAN FROM LAST YEAR.  THE TEAM MOST PREDICTED TO BE THE FRONTRUNNER FOR THE TOP OF THE WEST REGION HAS NOW BEEN PUT ON THE BACKBURNER.   IF THERE IS A SOPHOMORE JINX, ITS HAPPENED HERE AT THIS SCHOOL.  TEAM IS UP AND DOWN.....BUT FIGURES TO BE MOSTLY DOWN COME TOURNAMENT TIME IN THIS REGION.
 
RANDOLPH HENRY - ONLY OTHER TEAM THAT HAS A CHANCE TO MAKE IT OUT OF CONFERENCE 37 WHICH COULD BE AS WEAR OR WEAKER THAN CONFERENCE 40 THIS YEAR.  DO NOT EXPECT THIS TEAM TO MAKE MUCH NOISE IF ANY AT ALL IN THE REGION TOURNAMENT.
 
 
 
 

I do not think there is a whole of difference between VHS, Gate City, Union and Lebanon.  Come playoff time, coaching becomes more important.  VHS has some talent, as do the other aforementioned teams, but they may be at the bottom of the pecking order in the coaching category.  I hope Reed proves me wrong.

Are the tiebreaker rules posted anywhere? Didn't see the game but Va high isl loaded. They are our only shot to beat Martinsville-Dan River.

This was a huge win for VHS.  First time in 20 years they have bested THS in Viking Hall.  I believe the Bearcats just may have a good chance in the post season.  I almost made the 290 mile trip back. 

Suck it up, Eastern Virginia.

VHS has a ton of talent, hopefully they'll improve as the season goes on, been sloppy the first few weeks

Yeah buddy, missing that trip to Annapolis, Maryland in December really makes me blue.

That's what the two point conversion shall always be rememberd by.
 
Colley has reached legend status in swva already but damn if this doesent cement the legacy.
 
The book says always go for the tie at home but galax was better built for overtime than haysi IMO no stats to back up just eyeball test.
