This has to be the weakest RR team in many, many years. GW should roll, even though it is a rivalry game in Wythe County. I would think a running clock before half time. This is no knock against RR, they are just down. GW 56 RR 7

Virginia High is better than what VHS usually puts on the field. They have always had an abundance of talented athletes, but never did get the most out of their players. This year is different. This year is just the opposite for Richlands. They just don't have the athletes that they have been blessed with over the years. I still think Richlands will play this one on pride. I don't think Marion can match up very well with Graham. Marion has a very good team, solid O and D. Graham is just one step better. Graham 35 Marion 28

Back to the discussion of Eastside vs Chilhowie this Friday earlier in this thread; This game will be a dog fight, and not a major upset if Eastside wins. I say this because both teams are talented, and Eastside is on a winning streak, which they would love to continue. Chilhowie has a world of talent and skill, but as I have often said, CHS is known to lay an egg on a game and not show up at least once a year. I hope I am wrong and they come to play, but they are hard to figure out at times. Their defense has improved this year, but they still need a lot of improvement on their pass defense in order to be successful, imo. Best of luck to both teams.

Gate City always set the bar high in football, by winning with class. Now, comes the time when the shoe is on the other foot. Everybody is watching Gate City during this off year to see how Gate City will react to losing. Are they doing it with class? By some of the post I have read, I am beginning to wonder if GC is setting the same standards when losing, as they did all those years when they were winning. Just my impressions.

Gate City 0-6 vs Marion 6-0 VARSITY FOOTBALL ! Something just seems odd about those two. Who would ever have dreamed a match up like that would ever happen. The year 2017. It will probably never ever happen again. Have fun guys!

Virginia High has a good football team in my opinion. The team is well coached and their numbers are good, so depth is no problem. VHS has several players that make them dangerous. Their QB is a good passer and runner. They have good receivers. Their offensive line is very big, and can move fairly well. Their backs runs hard and they have some speed and quickness. If I was to find a weakness, it would be on the defensive side of the ball. They do not seem to have as much quickness on defense, as on the offensive side. VHS is going to put points on the board, no doubt about that, so you had better out score them, and hang with them in the 4th quarter. Yes, VHS is legit, imo.

Should Marion be concerned about playing a winless Gate City team Friday? You bet your boots! Gate City is having a very tough year. They are playing out of character....... In other words, the type of play GC has shown is not the Gate City everyone has grown accustomed to seeing. Marion should realize that GC is better than their record. Marion should prepare for GC just as though GC was unbeaten. Marion has a very good football team. When they take the field Friday, they will be playing a team that would love to knock them off. The Canes best be prepared for a dog fight. This may be Marion's toughest game so far this year, imo. This will not be a cake walk. Best of luck to both teams.

I have no idea what is bothering you, or why you are beating yourself up. You certainly seem to have always had your act together, and gave wise advice to others. I am probably twice your age and more. There is very little that I have not seen or witnessed over the years. God has been good to me, and I will always be thankful to him for all the blessings he has bestowed upon me. Have I ever been down on myself? Sure. That's when I need my spiritual guidance to help me. There are times in life that we go through that seem helpless and unforgiving. We do not know what tomorrow has in store for us, we can only hope that what ever comes our way, we will be able to deal with it. Life gets tough at times. Don't sweat the small stuff. Sometimes all I need is a talk with our Holy Father. Poor it out, My Friend. He is listening when no one else is. As I look at the world today and see all the problems of terrible hurricanes, homeless people, wars and rumors of wars, well my problems are small in comparison to what many folks are facing everyday. Would they trade places with me or you? You bet your boots they would. It is good that we take the time to evaluate ourselves at times, and see if we are headed in the right direction. Sometimes the olé ship may need to change directions, or rethink just what we want out of life...... What is really important in this short life on this place called Earth.
