  1. Acutally getting that #1 seed gave them the best scenario possible.
  2. Will they get the winner of Chilhowie/Galax? I don't know about the toughest second round game in Virginia, but if the Tigers were to beat PH on Saturday (the game they need to be and are focused on as of this week) then the second round should be a competitive game IMO. Although I do think the loss of Donte Peoples really hurt Galax's chances to go very far, still think they will definitely compete with Honaker for sure. I would like to see a rematch with Galax at Fuller Field this year.
  3. Honaker wins BDD !!! Shutout Haysi 21-0!!! FINAL
  4. No doubt that will be a great atmosphere although I just can't see it being as close as some are saying!
  5. Haysi @ Honaker as you prob know too!
  6. Ahhh... redtiger, here we go again!! Honaker will have to have an effective well balanced offense to win this game. As we've said in the past, usually Colley finds a way to put up points against Honaker if he has any talent at all and sounds like you guys have quite a bit. Honaker's D has been playing well, but I still think this will be a shootout!! At any rate it will be a playoff atmosphere in Honaker this Saturday with the district championship on the line, I'm already excited, can't wait and hope the crowds turn out for this one! How is Haysi's defense this year?
  7. I have no problem including Roanoke/Salem as part of SWVA, always thought of it that way. My problem lies with the fact that alot of people in the Roanoke area and eastward think the state ends in Roanoke and goes no farther west. lol
  8. Oh CRAP, that would make the fans come alive at EMATS, ey? Thanks for the info!
  9. What exactly have you heard about the lighting issue? I'm hearing no specifics. I just wonder if they are trying to get it fixed and if this will be the only Friday that will be affected. Didn't they make this call like Monday or Tuesday, so I'm assuming it's not an simple issue.
  10. Hey ole pal redtiger..... Haysi-Cwood score?? they ever get started ... HHAHA ... i totally ignored the last part of that post!!!!!!!!! ooops!!!!!!!!!!! what Q they in with the delay? Halftime in Honaker .... HHS-0 LHS-0
  11. Honaker picks off a Lebanon pass around the Tiger 5 yd line, drives the field to the Pioneer 5 yd line, gets a holding penalty.... 1st and goal from the 19.... Honaker fumbles and Lebanon recovers with 1:40 to go in the half......
  12. i know it's early but did not expect bburg to hang with giles..... one of giles running backs transferred i saw earlier this week .,.. wonder if this impacted giles much??
  13. Honaker and Lebanon still 0-0 at the end of the 1st Q
  14. thats always a good thing at Honaker is the food ... i guess im biased but also the visitor side has just as adequate seating as the home side... maybe more seating because of the home side press box... just to add my 2 cents... everyone be safe to and from games tonight!!!!!!!
  15. On the other side of the ball, Honaker's defense looked pretty dang good to me, was 7-6 at the half against Cwoods first team, but it was a scrimmage so you can't take that TOOO much away from that I guess.
  16. Honaker's backfield will still have talent, I don't think that will be an issue. Offensive line will control how much talent they can show obviously, but I'm not too worried about that. Last year the inconsistancy of the passing game was somewhat of a problem, hopefully we see more of a consistant passing game this year with a senior Qb who can sling it around and some WR who can make big plays. I actually wasn't surprised to see Haysi as the favorite at all from what I've heard. Those pesky red tigers are always in the hunt. I think it will be a three team race for sure. I wouldn't necessarily call Grundy a sleeper, they are a legit contender in my mind. Should be exciting to see how it all plays out!! Good luck to ALL the BDD!!!!!!!!!
  17. Honaker loses to Canada Layritz 1-0. Canada scored the one run in the 1st inning and Honaker stranded 9 runners throughout the game and outhit Canada 8-4 but could not push a run across the plate! Bummer, but the girls from SWVA were very competitive in every game represented the area extremely well!!! Great Job girls!!!!!!!!!
  18. no offense was taken here, didn't mean to sound like i was ranting when i was really just blundering i guess!! lol ... this is a mess as we've all said before and i think ive read post after post after post of proposal after proposal and i think im mixin a few of em up anyway. but i didn't mean to get into all this with a post about geographic locations of the schools, but i was serious about the appreciation for trying to clear up some stuff, no sarcasm there and i really didn't mean for you or anybody to have get into it too deeply!!! I'm sure people are tired of hearing the same ole stuff and tired of explaining time after time what the interpret these "proposals" to mean. anyway, have a great rest of the day!
  19. I agree with you on the travel ease up 220 to play in RRD, Rocky Mount is really nowhere from all the Roanoke schools, say 40 min bus ride??? Farther travel of course to the NRV schools and CC, but overall not as bad as the SD travel times.
  20. Whose gettin torqued? With no clarity on these changes these are all still proposals, we really don't know exactly whats going to happen at this point, right? This is a discussion board, and I was just responding to a post about geographic "fit" that came about due to the comment Region D didn't want RHS, THS, Marion but wanted Abingdon, from your fellow tornado. I could really care less where they put them, up until a couple of years ago, we played Tazewell and Abingdon and still play RHS. No torquing here, except work torquing my brain. When they do change to the 6A classification, I understand that Regions will no longer exist and conferences be in place. But this will not happen before RHS,THS drop to D-2, right? So the next cycle, starting next year, regions will still exist, am I right? Or will this move faster once officially passed? Thanks for taking the time to try to clear up some stuff about some the "proposed" changes in the future with all this VHSL alignment though.
  21. I guess I'm not helpin Region D's cause here, but Richlands and Tazewell would be a better "fit" for Region D geographically than for Region C, IMO. Marion would be a better "fit" for Region C geographically obviously. So I'm not sure why "D" wouldn't want them at this point. And as far as districts, in the CMD its certainly not as much as a numbers issue. Obviously if you throw them into the BDD with the smaller schools the numbers game comes into play, but the funny thing is I think the BDD teams can hold their own with those schools in every sport minus RHS football. Will they for sure be in the CMD? Is that the final answer, there is so much conversation I've gotten lost on facts and speculation??
