Yes.  The freshman QB has a grasp on the entire offense now also and has been playing very well.  He didn't have a handle earlier in the season which probably contributed in some way to the slow start.

This could be a great game. Haysi played lights out last night, but would have to play better to beat Galax. Stephen Peoples can score anytime he touchs the ball. I don't envy any team that draws them. I think Marion-Union could be a good 2nd round game if it happens. I am getting excited about some of the possible match ups. Lots of good football to be played yet. I love this time of year. 

I'd pick Galax to beat Haysi right now. Galax is just smashing everyone right now. Peoples is the best player in SWVA.
 
In 2A, I think anyone could beat anyone from 2-16. Lots of parity, no true dominant team aside from Giles.

Targeting, as called in the college game, is not a high school penalty.

I'm hoping for 512 yards, personally.

Fort's coaching staff was fairly new and still in the middle of changing a culture of inferiority pertaining to the other Wythe County schools two years ago.  That mess is behind them, it appears.  Coach James is one of the top coaches in SWVA in my opinion.

The Galax school board has approved a motion to add swimming as a winter sport beginning next school year.  The summer recreation program has been strong for many years in the Blue Ridge Swim League.  They should be competitive right off the bat.  Both of my girls are on the summer swim team and are extremely excited about the prospects of getting to do this for their school.

For anyone interested, the Thomasville broadcast, complete with video, is pretty impressive for high school football.
