Ouch. I remember when Grayson was had a 17 game streak a couple of seasons back. I wonder what the record for consecutive loses?

I heard the rumor about the forfeit crap prior to the Grayson game. Bland's got a young team, but they try their best. They're not gonna give a game away like that. However, it didn't look like they more than 20 players at the Grayson game, if that many.

That's good, he needed that. His brother graduates this year, and he's gonna have to learn how to play without him next season. ;) To Clintwood and their fans: good luck to you for the rest of the season. I hope you guys do well!

Grayson is a better team than what they showed last night. One of their biggest problems is the running game. They don't have a "go-to guy" in that aspect. They lack the 1-2 punch they had at halfback/fullback last year. That and the qb needs to learn he has other receivers besides his brother. :p

I sat on the Clintwood side during last years' state championship game. Met some good folks, and was quite impressed with the fan turnout they had considering the distance.

As a Grayson graduate who was in school during those early days after the consolidation, I agree. I'm just glad the team is doing a little something now. Coach McPherson had some rough seasons when he first came to Grayson.

Yeah, so is Grayson's. I wish they had some different non-district games. Feels like Grayson has been playing Chilhowie and Rural Retreat forever.

It was indeed a great game. Congrats to Clintwood, you guys earned it. You faced a very tough road in the playoffs. Congrats to Galax on an outstanding season. You kids played your hearts out today. This was one of the best games I've watched in a long time. Met a few Clintwood fans today. Good people that really love their football team. It was nice to see so many people there to support their respective teams today. Good stuff!

The rivalry doesn't really bother me that much, I'm actually kinda neutral in this game. The friend I'm attending the game with will be siding with Clintwood, as he utterly detests Galax (he really takes the Galax/GC rivalry personally). Me, I'm happy for both teams. I'll be there just to enjoy the game.

I'll be shunned by friends and co-workers, but I'm thinking of sitting on the Clintwood side at the game Saturday.

I agree with you about CW. I don't think they will just "lay down" either. Just posting a comment that was made. I just look at the people who are saying that as some of those over-excited fans who make comments without really thinking. There's a few in every crowd wherever you go. :p

Having watched the Grayson game, and being a Grayson fan, I can say Clintwood has been impressive since that game. They had a bad game that night, and that was probably the best game Grayson played this season as a team. It was just one of those things that happens sometimes. Galax is very tough, no doubt about it. However, this game could very well end up like the CW/Sussex game. I've already heard Galax fans at work talking about how Clintwood will probably just lay down if they get behind by a couple of td's, due to their style of tough defense/smashmouth offensive style. My reply was "don't be so sure..." CW needs to get to their QB. Their line has done a good job with pass protection, and if you knock him around a bit, you may shake him up.

I may go to the Galax game tomorrow, but I won't really be cheering for Galax. A friend of mine wanted to go and I said I'd go with him. I'm remaining neutral. However, if Clintwood meets Galax in the finals, I'm definately cheering for the Green Wave!

I think Brunswick is a double A school. 1-9 can be misleading in that sitiuation. I'm sure we've all seen games where a lousy double A team beat the crap out of a decent single A team.
