BigBlueAlum 12 Report Share Posted October 30, 2008 Yes, we all hate America. It is a big plot to destroy the country because we all know Obama is an America-hating terrorist.
trublue 939 Report Share Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) I will have to admit the following video did bother me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPqLyRdtTcM I'm sure ppl will have their own opinion of why he chose not to do it. Does that mean he hates/dislikes/or is just indifferent to the national anthem???? I couldn't answer that.... only he knows....but all the other ppl (dems, I believe) felt the desire to show their respect. BigBlueAlum 12 Report Share Posted October 30, 2008 Obama is not the one in the video not showing respect for the National Anthem. It is the people in the crowd taking pictures and waving signs. I don’t consider not placing your hand over your heart disrespectful, I consider not standing quietly and listening to the words of the Star Spangled Banner disrespectful. Just my opinion though. Give me a break, a simple gesture of putting your hand over your heart is not the line between respect and disrespect. It takes a lot more in my book to be considered disrespectful. I can honestly say that I don’t care if McCain stood there without his hand over his heart, that I wouldn’t mind at all. As long as the person is still, quite, and paying attention, then I don’t see it as disrespectful. But I guess some people are just a little more sensitive than I am. futbolking 766 Report Share Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) Both are disrespectful and the potential LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD should show more respect towards the country he wants to lead... Then I've been guilty of disrespecting the flag on more than one occasion...I'm positive that I haven't put my hand over my heart on more than one occasion. However, I did take my hat off and stand quietly in respect. Look around the football stadium this friday...you'll find about 50% of the fans engaging in disrespectful behavior during the playing of the national anthem....as you have defined it. Also, during the pledge of allegiance, I think I can remember a few times that I might not have stood at attention right away...so I guess I'm a communist or a socialist. Off with their heads!!! futbolking 766 Report Share Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) You have to ask yourself if you are a Obama supporter... with all the question marks he has... Is the risk worth the reward? Honestly, I believe the only people who have "question marks" about him...are the people supporting McCain. Some of the "questionable" things brought up about Obama seem to be pretty desperate acts on the part of Republicans (and almost laughable)...very typical of politics. If you're losing and have no advantage on the issues...smear the opponents record and patriotism...it's nothing new, just politics as usual...and I think people are immune to this kind of crap and want to hear more about issues rather than character. Odd thing is, I don't hear a lot of Democrats bringing up the immoral behavior of McCain's past. I forget, however...that we don't NEED to go there... No, some people just realize that Obama is likely going to win this thing and they are grasping at straws. The way these guys are making it seem, you'd think he burned a flag or something... Get used to it Republicans....a Democrat most likely will be in the white house ...so look forward to a balanced budget in a few years....and most likely wages will go UP....rather than DOWN... how original is that idea? We're currently working on being able to censor your actual thoughts and actions. Right now we're only able to do so on message boards. Simple logic. If you tax businesses more, then they have less money. If they have less money, they cant pay as many workers or more wages. Who supports taxing more businesses again? It doesn't matter how much of a tax break you give them....they'll still ship jobs overseas...the tax break should be in effect, if they keep jobs in America... By providing an INCENTIVE for the tax break....not just GIVING them a tax break because they're a corporation..(Unless...oh no, you don't think the politicians would take a kick back do you?..NO WAY!!!)....read my post again...it says...give them a tax break for keeping jobs in America.... And YES CEO's have a LOT to do with EVERYTHING...every aspect of their corporation...unless you believe they just sit and collect those checks for hundreds of millions for nothing...wait a minute, maybe you're right... typical republican, knee jerk reaction. Guest BEAVERTAIL Report Share Posted October 30, 2008 trickle trickle trickle...sounds like "Reaganomics" to me...remember how well that worked?...Beavertail? OH yeah...unemployment was even higher then... Get some facts dude. Before the Reagan Administration: 7.6% unemployment rate. After the Reagan Administration: 5.5% unemployment rate. Currently: 6.1% unemployment rate. Good try though. Unemployment soared early in his presidency because of Carter, who brought it down? Reagan. And Reagan had inherited that horrible economy from who: Jimmy Carter. Read his similarities with Obama here: http://www.swvasports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11910&page=2&highlight=obama+jimmy+carter He reduced inflation from 15% to 1%. Reaganeconomics was designed for that. Whether you admit it or not, the economy was in serious trouble due to the worst president in the history of the US, Jimmy Carter. Reagan improved the economy greatly, and according to TIME, set the economic foundation for the country for the next 20 years.
futbolking 766 Report Share Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) "Whether you admit it or not, the economy was in serious trouble due to the worst president in the history of the US, Jimmy Carter." George W. has surpassed Carter for that honor...And I'm pretty sure that Carter could actually pronounce the word "nuclear". How do you explain the economic disaster we're experiencing today...do you want to blame that one on Clinton? And another thing....Unemployment went as high as 14% during Reagan's administration... So where does Obama show that he wants to give incentives for businesses keeping jobs in the country? Thats what I thought. You have went from claiming that Obama will balance the budget and raise wages to trying to talk about keeping jobs in America. Guess what? Obama is moving jobs out of America with his tax plan! CEO's do nothing? They just control a multi-million dollar industry. They just oversee every branch in their company. I mean, im sure they didnt have to work to get to that position. CEO's like Warren Buffett, who wanted to start working for free to move up the ladder in a corporation, James greco, who had a job is sales before moving up the ladder in the Ice Cream industry, or james Owens, who got his Ph.D. and then worked 22 years to become the CEO of Caterpillar. They didnt sit on thier butts, they worked for it. Same with any CEO. And they still work, like it or not. But we are getting off the record.
