They want their social security, medicare and strong military but dont want to pay for it. These 3 things comprise about 80 percent of the budget. We want to complain about the President not doing anything for jobs but we dont want a stimulus even though the last one had tax cuts which made the Republicans uneasy because they would have supported it if it had been their idea.

Looky here, a liberal reaching and giving a statement that contradicts itself.

Where have I seen this before?

Tax cuts??? Obama "stimulus"??? You mean the one where Obama took less from our paychecks but left the withholding table the same??? You mean the one where people will be getting smaller refunds or will end up having to PAY taxes this year because there wasn't enough Federal income tax withheld from their paychecks last year because of this so called "stimulus"??? The only thing that accomplished is it has "taken" money away from those who were expecting a bigger refund or has cost some folks money because they now have to pay Uncle Sam.

My wife and I were ahead of that "game" and had additional Federal taxes withheld from our paychecks in addition to what was normally taken out (not the adjusted amount after the "stimulus")...or at least we thought we were ahead of that "game". For the first time ever we OWE the Federal government money. This after we've gotten refunds of up to a couple thousand dollars each year since we've been married. Nice stimulus!!!

Also, I can't tell you how many people have called our office saying we weren't taking out (or hadn't taken out) enough Federal tax on their paychecks. Many discovered this once they had their taxes done and were not getting a refund like they had in the past. I explained to them we had taken out what the IRS told us to withhold under Obama's "stimulus" plan. All of those folks won't be getting back what they are used to getting back from the Government and the sad part is, most of them really NEED that refund to make ends meet.

I find this highly offensive. Don't mind paying for it? I've been paying for it all my life! The problem lies within the government's lack of accountability. It always has, it's just much worse in this administration. Was the economy stimulated by the most recent Obama stimulus package? Hell no. You say "they want their social security". I've been paying into social security all my adult life, and I'm 58 years old. You're damned right I want my social security when I retire. It's my freaking money. But because of this idiot in the White House spending my tax dollars like a 12 year old kid who found a $50.00 bill, I probably won't see a penny of it. I have an idea...why not require drug testing for everyone who receives any kind of benefit from the government...if you fail the test for illegal drugs, you lose your check. I'll guarantee you THAT ALONE would save this country billions of dollars. These sorry asses that are able to work, who instead sit at home get paid to do nothing are the root of the problem. Stop enabling the source of the problem, and you've come a long way toward fixing the problem. Unemployment is at an all time high. Obama said if Congress would just approve his "stimulus package" while employment was around 7%, that would keep the unemployment rate from reaching 8%. Where are we now? 10.6%. Nice work, my brotha.

All working taxpayers have been paying for those programs all their lives!!! Not to mention, taxpayers are also paying for all the fiscal irresponsible garbage that Washington has been throwing money at for years!! You're damn right I don't want him to sign another stimulus package since the last one has been so successful filled with garbage program spending.

By the way, outline for us these so called "tax cuts" in the anointed ones' "stimulus" package.

If YOU are happy with the way Washington is spending and want a socialistic society, then why don't YOU drive right up to Washington, D.C. and hand them your check book and credit cards so it can be distributed to those deemed "less fortunate."

What bright ideas do you have for the country if you were president???

Apparently people don't want to pay for their schools or roads either, but they'll be the first in line to complain about them...(Republicans and Democrats alike...not being biased).

Fewer would complain if government, (state, local, or federal) would make good use of tax dollars instead of wasting our hard earned money like they're doing now. Trillions of dollars are being squandered by the current administration in the name of "change". I've had enough of Obama's "change". I pray those who voted him into office will wake up and smell the coffee and vote this joker out of office in 2012...if we survive that long.

The Republicans had both houses and the presidency and what did they do they hid the Iraq war budget and the deficit got worse than ever,I repeat ever, ever! I'm not saying the Democrats are any better but if you think Sarah Palin will make things better you are idiots! You need to separate the soccer mom crap from real change.Ron Paul is respected by me because he has the nuts to call for real change. The problem is there is no difference between republicans and democrats as far as real change.Don't just vote on social issues!Ron Paul does not want to get in your gun rack, your bedroom, your pharmacy or anything in your personal life, because he believes in personal responsibility and fiscal responsiblility.

I'm strictly arguing administration here, not Republican vs Democrat, although I obviously am much more conservative than you. I would be the first to support ANYONE, Republican or Democrat who can get us out of this cluster f*** of a mess. I am not advocating the support of Sarah Palin. IMO she's not the answer either. But anyone would be better than the incompetent moron who's in the White House at present. And don't even get me started on Pelosi...she's totally clueless.

I would throw my support to an independent for that matter if he or she had a sensible solution to the current economic problems. I'm against big government of any kind.

Our tax money has been "squandered" for 40 years...not just current administration....If they'd quit giving food and healthcare to crackheads who choose not to work....maybe things would be a little better...

Not being biased either...but speaking of Moron...look it up in Webster's...there's a picture of G.W... He made government enormous during his administration. I'm disappointed with what's going on now too....the wrong people are being "helped" by this stimulus crap. Washington needs to seriously cut the budget by getting rid of programs that do nothing but waste tax dollars and make people dependent upon government assistance.

The military doesn't "compromise" a gd thing in this country, it's kept this country safe for decades and even more for the last 8 years. Our military has been the one that has kept large scale peace in check around the globe and on a humanitarian level makes intervention in places like hatti possible. You say if people want a military they should pay for it, we have, and if you want freeedom and safety you have to pay for that by having such a strong military. No one pays a higher cost than the military servicemen and women themselves though.

You're consistent bashing of the military is beyond old and offensive, especially to those who really did serve in it.

I agree with this statement totally, but this administration has taken it to a new and embarrassing level.

"but speaking of Moron...look it up in Webster's...there's a picture of G.W..."

However, this statement is why Obama's people get no points for credibility. Blame Bush all you want while he was in office, and maybe for the first three months or so while the new administration gets its feet wet, but it has been over a year, and it's not George's fault anymore. Get over your blame game of the previous administration, and admit this current administration is failing in its attempt to function productively. That's all you hear is this lame excuse of blaming Bush. NEWS FLASH...he's retired! Talk to your home boy in the White House. You just might recognize the culprit.

Then why are you a Republican.
Mainly because of comments by liberals like you, who say things like this:

And I have to answer like this:

"I find this highly offensive. Don't mind paying for it? I've been paying for it all my life! The problem lies within the government's lack of accountability. The people in the military are the ones who provide you and everyone else with personal liberty, they do more for it than anyone else, what are you trying to say?

Just because you believe in a strong military, does not mean you are not deficit financing liberal. The Russians believe in a strong military.Based on what I have heard on here, you are left-leaning , especially on your fiscal policies, even if you are not smart enough to understand that part of it,and you seem to be an ally of Blue state Alabama.

Statements like that and you going to piss the ole' Buzzsaw off. You are smart enough to make comments that are degrading in nature to people when you behind a keyboard and are 100 miles away. Now, that is the "I am better than you" SALEM attitude that I remember. I had hoped that had changed. But I will not judge all of the Spartans because of one.

Haha, that's ironic that they have that attitude. Who exactly are they better than? Isn't that were all the sewers of Roanoke run to? I think I heard that somewhere during my time at Tech. Whatever. Buzzsaw, thanks for defending whatever ideology the watcher is arguing for. If it weren't for you and the others you served with, we would all be in danger of being afraid of what we said, something the watcher obviously is not (which is OK too).

I appreciate the comment vthokies, but for what it's worth, I'm not in any way attempting to stand out in any of this, but this guy puts the military down time after time with these snide comments, and to be honest I'm not even certain what he's trying to say yet. It's the typical argument that can be expected with a liberal, they don't make any sense.

And this guy had the audacity to say he served in the military a month or so ago.

I really think he's just trolling. He seems to enjoy posting inflammatory anti-military and anti-conservative views on here because he knows he'll get a rise out of some of us. Me included. That's what makes this country the greatest country in the world. Even though one chooses to post negative views on the military, or in my case the current administration, or whatever, we are in no way threatened with retaliation by anyone. Our military makes sure of that fact. Throughout the history of this great nation men who fight to protect freedom, including freedom of speech, also fight to protect those very individuals who oppose them. To oppose a strong military is taking a naive view of this turbulent, crazy world we live in. Anyone who does that is just showing their ignorance.

If you want people to stop smoking, you TAX CIGARETTES.

If you want people to stop drinking, you TAX ALCOHOL.

If you want people to stop working, YOU TAX INCOME!

Two of Obama's favorite strategist is a guy named Richard Cloward and a Lady named Francis Fox PIven, they were 60's radicals and college professors who argued for a socialist society in America. If you ever read anything about their theories, you will find that the actions of the current administration, and several members of both parties, appear to be following their blueprint for "success."

You're correct. When asked for specifics on their side of things, you get no response from the watcher or something that is off subject. That shows major signs of "stirring the pot."

I respectfully disagree with this axiom.

Cigarettes and alcohol are both vices unnecessary to one's daily life, addictions aside. Income IS necessary, and one will not stop working simply because one's taxes are perceived to be high.
