I was thinking 5-6 years but I just realized that it is 2010, where did the years go? By 5-6 years I meant 1999 or 2000.

Thanks to the miracles of the internet and GMAN I have found an answer, grundy and hurley last played each other in football in 2002 with a score of 49-0 wave, 2001 was 64-0 wave! OUCH!

lets all hope for a better game this year

Have to get the OH theme in the mix:

9/10 - Bellbrook vs Carroll

10/22 - Bellbrook vs Oakwood

Does not hold a candle to Graham vs Beaver, but you take what you can get!

  • 3 weeks later...

Grab ya a bag of popcorn and soda....a little long winded here.....:D

I didn't want to start a new thread.....so, this is the closest thread I could find alluding to intentions of attending a HS football game.

The game, this Friday night, Sept. 3 is not a rivalry, but it hopefully, will be a memorable one.

It's not a local SWVA game... so, you might want to quit reading this post now.

However, some of you not able to attend a game on Friday night might possibly want to watch the game on ESPNU at 8 p.m.

The game is North Gwinnett HS, Suwanee, GA against Crenshaw HS of CA. Crenshaw is a Los Angeles school ranked #17 and N. Gwinnett ranked #22 in the nation.

NG is the local high school for our neighborhood.....we are located 3 miles from the school campus and stadium. (We attended the ATL Falcons "Fri.nite under the lights" couple of weeks ago at this high school stadium, a great event.)

We are planning on attending the game....won't be able to listen to my Blues vs. Honaker, but I hope to read about it on this board after the NG/Crenshaw game.

Following is a video on the "black mamba" for Crenshaw .....he's a player

NG's, C.J. Uzomah, played as QB the last 2 yrs. and is playing at QB/WR this year as the situation dictates.... committed to Auburn... 6"5" Sr.

EDIT: Forgot about Mikey Tamburo....was QB for NG prior to Uzomah....and signed with Boise State.

Now a little info.....for the TN fans....JaWuan James, played for NG last year, and is now at TN...a true FR likely will be starting....

http://blogs.ajc.com/recruiting/2010/08/31/ten10-wr-darick-rogers-doesnt-crack-two-deep-for-tennessee/

excerpt:

Guess who was on the Vols’ two deep? JaWuan James. In fact, the 6-foot-7, 313-pound offensive lineman out of North Gwinnett is set to start at right tackle for UT. Dooley was asked at the game week media luncheon Monday how he felt about James winning the job. “I’m as comfortable as probably any coach could ever be with a true freshman starting at right tackle,” Dooley said, meaning he’s not. “JaWuan could barely breathe in the mock game [last week] from anxiety, and there was nobody in the stands. You can’t forget that he’s a true freshman. We laughed at it in the staff meeting today because we act like the guy’s a junior. He’s like one of our veterans because he’s been here seven months, not two months. He’s extremely mature. He’s very balanced. He’s intelligent. He’s going to be a really good player.”

Also, Austin Shepherd on last year's NG team is now at AL....however, the AL roster is deep...

Now, something for the GATE CITY folks....your own Jeff Herron....HC at Camden County(former Emory and Henry player) is looking to 3-peat this year in Georgia 5A ....they're playing a "tuff" opponent this Friday night, Miami Central ranked #2 USA Today, #3 Rivals. Not only that....later on they are playing nationally ranked St. Thomas Aquinas, Camden County’s Oct.1 opponent, is No. 7 in the PrepNation poll, No. 52 in the Rivals and No. 22 with ESPN. ( ESPNU will be carrying this game at 8 p.m.)

I think this station carries the Camden games on the net....
