ghs73 157 Report Share Posted September 1, 2011 Unbelievable ! ...........but not really. coaches and the kid need to be kicked off the team and anyone else involved in any attack or violence in this game. need to set example now to stop future outbreaks. Lance 228 Author Report Share Posted September 2, 2011 there were a few times down at CC and once against VA High that I thought something like this might happen...but, never seen anything like that happen around here?
1inStripes 933 Report Share Posted September 2, 2011 Thought it was about to happen to me at Lee High last year. Random kid just wanted to interrupt play and be a nuisance though. Hopped two fences after leaving the field and made his way up RT 58.
Lance 228 Author Report Share Posted September 2, 2011 the va high game was the closest i've seen...the refs almost got lynched before they could get out of there then there were a lot, not a few, fans waiting on them in the parking lot and they were escorted to their cars so they could leave...it was as ugly as it could get without coming to a full on fight. I saw one of those guys at a scrimmage this year and he tried to talk to me...didn't have anything for him....at all.
Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted September 2, 2011 Awful, but a tiny part of me thinks that it would've been justified in Graham-Martinsville '81.
futbolking 766 Report Share Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) 99 Floyd vs. Giles at Floyd....couple folks got arrested for assaulting a referee....clock went out and time was kept on the field....A few Giles fans felt that it was done on purpose and the refs intentionally gave Floyd extra time to win the game....It was ugly....real ugly. One lady hit the ref with her stadium chair....couple people got cuffed....that game is still brought up every time Giles and Floyd play it seems. stu_bean 1,058 Report Share Posted September 2, 2011 Not quite the same, but what was it happened at Marion a few years back at the end of the game against Abingdon I beleive? Caught the end of it on the radio but station faded out so I didn't get all the details. All I know is it sounded kind of like a melee was breaking out.
