coacher 10 Report Share Posted May 23, 2012 Hell, when has Clemson?! That's was Clemson's MO until this year...choke in the bright lights when you have the talent to win. To the big extent, that's VT's, too...VT is 1-26 against Top 5 opponents. That's downright...horrible. Clemson and VT have been consistent alright... Shew, thank goodness UVA hasn't been ranked in the top 5 since around the early 90's.
Hacker 82 Report Share Posted May 23, 2012 UVAO does leave out the fact that the writer has Swofford pegged. He is quite effective in looking out for the interests of the ACC. I do have a question that no one has ever mentioned, are there SEC schools who might consider jumping ship? It can't be ruled out.

sandman 13 Report Share Posted May 23, 2012 Don't get me wrong, but when you conference champions surrender 70+ points in a bowl game your conference is screwed.

blueinbama 259 Report Share Posted May 23, 2012 Actually, I was thinking of a couple of SEC basketball schools that have never measured up football wise. What would they have to gain? And look what they would lose. No way Vandy and Kentucky do that voluntarily. And I doubt seriously the SEC would ever force them out. They are the cream of the crop (especially Kentucky) in SEC basketball.
1inStripes 933 Report Share Posted May 24, 2012 The SEC wouldn't force them out because there is no reason to. Vandy and UK wouldn't be dumb enough to leave and lose millions of dollars in funding from the SEC's TV contracts. How ignorant does this statement look: "Hey guys lets go join X conference so we can be a little more competitive in football. We might even win a conference title in the next 5-10 years, but were going to lose about $100 million in the process. You all in?"

On the other hand, the ONLY thing that's keeping Vandy from exploring is that contract.
