I think they should pull every violent video game off of the shelves, NOW. I've witnessed how children get obsessed with the games. Some children spend all of their free time in front of a computer, TV screen, etc. They cannot decipher from reality and fantacy any longer.

Its the parents place to seperate fantasy from reality. If the kids dont know the difference its the parents fault. Games are just that, games. If children cant seperate them from reality thats a red flag that there are much deeper issues.

#1 No because this has NOTHING to do with Benghazi.

Not to mention that no one on this board was saying anything about Benghazi the day that it happened.

#2 Like UVA said, facts prove that there was a coverup of Benghazi. Here you are getting off the subject and comparing two incidents. You are one sick person.

You're right, the incident that happened Friday has nothing to do with Benghazi. It was not my intention to compare the two. This thread is about gun control and the politicalization of tragic events on a political board. My only intention was to show that both sides can be guilty of it, and it is wrong either way. I fail to see how this makes me a sick person...but then again I guess that anyone who disagree with you must be an idiot and/or sick.

Also, I never said anyone on this board was saying anything about Benghazi the day it happened, but others outside of this forum were. I also haven't seen anyone on this board speak out for more gun control, ...I guess that means it isn't happ

You can continue to make personal remarks about my intelligence and character but it only goes to show the type of person that you are.

That's the problem. Parents don't teach children this any more. Kids have no accountability. They're not accountable in video games because they can just hit the reset button. A friend in education said a student at his school missed probably 1/2 the total days of the school year and still graduated (and no they were not Dr.'s notes). Even if I try teach my kids, they may go to friend's house where the parent thinks it is better to be a friend than a parent and then my child is put into a situation that is hard to for them to deal with.

Heard about a shooting at an Alabama hospital. More fuel for the political fire....

And did anyone else see the statement given by the father of one of the little girls who was slain. His courage and strength should be modeled by all of us.

Lots of parents aren't around.....working, some 2 jobs. The latest villian was 20 and lived with his mother!!!!! Remove the violence from the game shelf. Guns....I shoot now and then at the clay pigeons at the shooting range. I'm not against guns.....

The kid missing 1/2 of the school days and graduating is rediculious, should of been held accountable. Thats the schools fault.

Kids will be put in situations that are hard for them to deal with, thats gonna happen. Hopefully the parent has done a good enough job of preparing them for it.

The problem isn't parents working two jobs. The problem isn't video games. The problem isn't guns. The problem today is the fact that we, as a nation, have turned our backs on God.

Garbage in -garbage out...we say GI-Go--The violence we take in, the pornography, the occutlism, the consumption of alcohol and drugs, the pride of life, the breakdown of the family, perversion, etc.. and blueinbama, your right we have turned from the Lord. And destruction from within is our fruit.

I hear more about God these days than I can ever remember at any point in the past. There is not a day that goes by that I don't hear something about God at least...at the very least...15+ times a day. Either in the media , social media, or wherever... overwhelmingly most of the time it has something to do with self proclaimed religious people being judgmental of others, sometimes other religious people...in that things should be done a certain way or another, or that someone else is wrong for something dealing with God, or that another religion is wrong because they don't have the same "God" that their particular religion worships.

I don't ever remember in the past 40+ years of my life hearing/seeing it this much on a daily basis.

Just an observation, not a political or religious statement in any way....so don't take it as such.

I am a minister ,love sports, love people and talk often of faith ,sports and people. Everyone should speak the truth in love. Many are imbalanced with either all tuth and no love or all love and no truth... You shall know the trth and the truth shall make you free... As time progresses and society continues to fragment ...there will be those pleading for folks to re-examine their lives and look to God for help...also add the attack on sacred traditional marriage that has manifested, the strange weather patterns and killer storms, the mass murders in theaters and schools, the failures in politics, the unraveling of the Middle East, the rampant spread of drugs, meth,k2,bath salts, theft, crime etc.. There is much fear, instabiity and pain that fills our nation.

Atheists are out in an all out war to remove the mention of God in ourland..the group Freedom from Religion prides itself in getting prayer removed from local high school footbal games, colleges,etc... There are folks who refuse to be silent.Love the Haysi fans who during the moment of silence, the whole bleachers pray the Lord' Prayer and it is anything but silent!

The verse that speaks to me is Joshua 24-15.'.'Choose you this day who you will serve, but as for me and my house,we will serve the Lord''

yeah i don't see a big deal in prayer before games and all that sort of thing...if you want to do it then do it, if not then don't...you don't have to pray just be quiet while others who wish to do so are. I don't think it should be mandatory or restricted...that's the nice thing about free will and choice...do as you please as long as it doesn't bother someone else...in public places then it should be either/or i think.

I see a lot of people on Facebook who use God to support whatever argument they are having...to me, that is just lame and really not what religion is about. I'll give you an example...I know a lady who's husband split and started seeing someone else after the fact...now this lady goes on Facebook every chance she gets and posts up something about God doing her vengeance for her and all this sort of thing...I see people saying, like Huckabee, that this school shooting happened because God isn't in school...to me these are not what religion is all about...it's not about taking whatever verse from the bible and twisting it around to fit whatever argument you are trying to prove to someone...it's not about imposing your particular religious view on someone else who has a different view...it's not about trying to credit "God" for everything good that goes on and blame "God" (or the absence of) for everything bad that goes on...it's not about going to church all the time and being social on Sunday...dress up and act straight for a day and do whatever else you want the other 6 days of the week...it's not about "no work on sunday"...that's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard (and using Chick-Fil-A to support that argument is just as bad, yet everyone seems to do it)... it's not about judging people or looking down on people because you "think" you are a better person than they are...which, from my personal experience with organized religion, that is probably my main beef...it's not about following the bible to the letter in literal terms as a way to live your life.

To me, religion is a more personal thing...I dont answer to anyone other than "God"...I don't need to subscribe to any particular brand of organized religion to have that relationship. I have my own belief, my own system...I do my own thing. I don't try to tell people how to run the religious end of their life, I don't like to be told how to run mine by anyone else...and I don't think those who don't believe should be telling those who do how they should do things either...i think there is common ground and everyone should just shut up about it and live their own life the way they see fit...if something is going on you don't like in public just shut and ignore it and it'll be over with soon enough...if not then go some other place or something...i just wish everyone would stop trying to run the damn show and would just let people do their thing and mind their own business a little more.

If everyone walked in the true love of God revealed in I Corinthians 13 would change our communities and nation.

if a frog had wings...as they say.

You can't get a room full of people to all agree on anything...much less get the world to agree on something.

To each his own, but keep yours to yourself is the way i look at it...i'm not going to tell anyone how to live their own life or what they should or shouldn't do...in the end everyone will be accountable for their own actions at some point or another.

I doubt anyone can find anything judgmental or confrontational in this.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

New International Version (NIV)

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

I didn't say it wouldn't be offensive to some. Satan and his followers are always looking for something to exploit, and they hate scripture. But even Satan can't argue that this scripture is judgmental or confrontational.

I know Lance... bad representatives of Christ hurts the ministry of those who are giving it 100% to impact those who are without Christ.. Our actions should make it easy for others to want to learn about Christ . We need true authentic followers of the Lord who care about everyone and not just rant and rave .

We all ultimately are accountable for the knowledge and light we have been given and each will answer for themselves..

Well said. I need to work on that! I often get caught up in "discussions" when I should be sharing the love of Christ. I appreciate your wise words, wave316.

just clicked over to CNN for a few min...i don't watch the news really anymore, it makes me sick.

but..just wanted to see what was up this morning in the wake of what happened last week...and there within a 15 minute time frame I heard the lady say "some people blame the NRA for what has happened in CT"....really?

Then..Joe Leiberman is on there saying "we need act fast before the impact of this tragedy passes and the emotional tensions are lowered"...really?

I'm going back to not watching the news again.
