Tigers_07 72 Report Share Posted August 31, 2015 my idea is that if anyone watches college gameday, why not have a SWVA version of gameday. I think it will be neat. thoughts?

Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted August 31, 2015 How would/could it be done? (1) Tailgate (2) Camcorder (3) Pick location (4) ???? (5) Profit! The biggest hitch is finding someone who will volunteer to be Lee Corso. It's like Dick Clark in those final years of New Year's Rockin' Eve. Kudos for coming back from the stroke, but it's emotionally taxing to watch. Hacker

Bigrhsfan 884 Report Share Posted August 31, 2015 I think something like that would be fantastic if we could pull it off. Maybe have a vote as to the game of the week the coming week and do it from there. Have Gman as the moderator of the show and he could wear his Gmen helmet and use the Ban-hammer as a gavel ! GoBearsGo 142 Report Share Posted August 31, 2015 The "Pigskins Picks" show on 93.5 WAXM out of Norton does a great job! All the guys are very versed on local sports (football specifically) and even talk some college stuff. The air live on Thursdays evenings and then re-air the show on Friday's before game time. IMO it's worth checking out if you haven't. If you can't get the station where you are you can stream it online.
hogo_sportz 19 Report Share Posted September 1, 2015 If you want to foot the bill, sure, I'm in... Can confirm. Is not cheap. Coordination with schools is also problematic. Getting kids to participate is surprisingly difficult (that's where cheerleaders are clearly preferred, they're trained to be overly excitable for no reason). Good luck. GamedayinMountainDistrict 10 Report Share Posted September 2, 2015 If there ever was a Southwest Virginia gameday it is in the BSG on Friday. That would be like a college atmosphere anyway. I would have Casey Geotz, Kenny Hawkins and Ashton Bishop. One reporter from all three local stations. Each reporter predicts scores for the games. Then big game of the day. Richlands & Union. Have a guest picker come in. Phil Robbins, Brad Robbins or Thomas or Julius Jones. It would be big time!
