GW vs Galax

This is one game that im not sure who to pick. On paper I would say that GW has more speed, size, and overall talent, but Dixon knows how to turn nothing into something better than any coach I have seen. My mind tells me Galax by a couple points but my gut tells me GW by a touchdown. Take that how you will.

I just don't see Galax having the talent and leadership from a player standpoint to overcome all of the on-field and off-field issues they are experiencing in order to beat a team as talented as George Wythe.  Galax has fumbled 11 times and committed 37 penalties in 4 games counting the benefit game with Carroll.  They have also had several suspensions and a few players quit the team.  

 

I could be completely wrong, it wouldn't be the first time and wont be the last but I just see too much that has to be cleaned up in a short period of time.

 

Edit to add; This could be a very different story come November.  Dixon will likely get these issues buttoned up like he did last season, just probably not in a week.

GW is loaded for A ball.  Galax is very well coached and I believe that Dixon keeps them in this game.  GW by 2 TD's.

GW all the way. I picked them to win it all in A this year and I just don't see Galax beating them. I think Galax will give them a game but GW is so talented this year.

Should be a great one. Advantage to GW but Coach Dixon is a class act and can flat out coach.

GW has a great offensive line imagine if Dixon got to coach that group then I would say 1A champs.

Coach Dixon is a good coach but George Wythe has a good one as well.  Coach Harner is 24-6 in his young career.  GW lost 8 starters on offense going into last year.  Coach Harner played Sophomores and Juniors on that side of the ball and went 12-2.  This year GW replaced 8 on defense and he is 3-0.  Wytheville is glad to have Coach Harner.  He's a good one.

GW has a awesome offensive line..When they run the jet sweep atleast 3 linemen hold Everytime.The refs won't call it even thou it's plainly seen.Their pass D isn't great either.But hey,its GW..

Coach Harner is a good coach. What Coach Dixon has done at Galax puts him above though. He took a team that hadn't won alot and made them into a state contender every year. GW has the kids to be state contenders every year.

Seeing the roster sixcat posted our QB and some skills players are as big or bigger than their line. No mater who stsrts for them it will be interesting to see how our size deals with them.

After the dust settled, a handful of players quit before the season started but only one that played last year. A returning starter was suspened for 2 weeks and another starter was expelled from school.

My thoughts exactly! Thought GW would win this one and Galax would win if they met again. But like I said earlier Coach Dixon can flat out coach and has built something special in Galax.
