swva_havok_fan 1,261 Report Share Posted November 10, 2016 I never ever got to make the trip to Pocahontas. Next time I am over toward Bluefield, I think I will make a trip down that way just to check it out.
bucfan64 307 Report Share Posted November 10, 2016 Whitewood entered BDD football play in 1992 and remained until consolidation with Garden to form Twin Valley. Never won the district.

redtiger 1,740 Report Share Posted November 10, 2016 I believe it was 89 that St. Paul left to join the Cumberland after Jonesville and Pennington was closed to form Lee. Was that 88 or 89? Grundy joined in?

There's not much there now but there's still a few cool old buildings to check out.

cowboysnskynyrd 74 Report Share Posted November 11, 2016 St. Paul's last season in BDD was 1989. Grundy joined in 2011. St Paul had a great rb/lb around 1989. #44 Benny Burrell?? Sadly someone told me he drowned saving somebody. He reminded me of Haysi's #44 Tito Mock, who also sadly passed away but due to a motorcycle accident. I cant remember all the details but it was a swimming accident. He was going to attend E & H that Fall. Hell of a ball player.
cityofRaven 2,444 Report Share Posted November 11, 2016 So I'm assuming that Cleveland was in the Cumberland then if not in the Clinch Valley?
