RaiderNation 24 Report Share Posted August 9, 2019 Doesn't really hurt, instead of dividing by 10 games, your points are divided by 9 games.

Doesn't hurt the average. 180/9 = 200/10. Unlikely to create tiebreak situations either, given the odd denominator.
Optimal62 178 Report Share Posted August 9, 2019 Thanks UVAObserver The math makes since - although what about the loss of rider points?
Tigers_07 72 Report Share Posted August 9, 2019 i noticed on some schedules ranging from VA, KY, and WV that before Bland made the decision to cancel their season, there was a few teams, I.E. Twin Springs, Montcalm, and a couple of KY schools only have 9 games. so i'm not 100% sure, but teams that had Bland on their schedule should talk to these teams and hopefully it will work out and everyone gets a 10th game
VHSLhelper 571 Report Share Posted August 9, 2019 Only Montcalm has 9 - along with privates North Cross & Roanoke Catholic.
VHSLhelper 571 Report Share Posted August 9, 2019 If GW wins 6 or more, not having a 1-9 team added in will HELP their average if they 'erase' the game. If they take a FFT, it will hurt, because no rider points can be earned.

Bland Co. would have been a point anchor this season, so not having them on the schedule increases the *average* rider points your opponents have, which is what truly matters. sixcat
Bluefield researcher 1,195 Report Share Posted August 9, 2019 It is not about how many points you get, it is about how many points you AVERAGE. When you play nine games it just makes each game a little more important because you are dividing the pie up nine ways instead of 10. Bluefield researcher 1,195 Report Share Posted August 9, 2019 If I am not mistaken I think in Virginia somewhere down the tiebreaker procedure rules there is a tie breaker that favors schools that were only able to schedule nine games? Am I correct? Deleted Account
