jeffro 30 Report Share Posted November 28, 2004 Salem is starting to "whine " already and will protest the field until opening kick-off, Richlands earned home-field and regardless of the conditions if affects both teams, not just the visitors Go Richlands
Cola 10 Report Share Posted November 28, 2004 Well the field is in pretty good shape and comparing to other fields in SWVA, I feel we should be alright.
old_school_blue 247 Report Share Posted November 28, 2004 Salem would whine if the game was played in a dome. They will find something to complain about. I hope they complain about their sore hineys after the Blues spank 'em. Maybe they should play the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl At Richlands or Grundy! Lance 228 Report Share Posted November 28, 2004 I'd give anything to hear Mance mention playing it at Grundy just to hear how loud Salem would scream about 2 seconds later...lmfao.
Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted November 28, 2004 Hey, play it at Mitchell Stadium. The field is in great shape and the stadium will easily handle the crowd and parking required for the game...

BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted November 28, 2004 Judging from the pictures from BuzzsawBeaver, Mitchell looks pretty good for this time of year, but I think Ernie Hicks does too. I think the VHSL will approve it.

bluefieldRocks 14 Report Share Posted November 29, 2004 Lots of people will go, but no way near as many if the game would be closer, like charleston or hunington,

rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted November 29, 2004 I dont think Salem needs to be complaining too much about our field because i know that they have already played on a field like ours and won big. The field at Pulaski County was in terrible shape (looked alot worse than the field at RHS) for the final week and Salem went there a lit PC up something like 30-3. The beat a good team in a big game on a field like that, they shouldn't complain.
Lance 228 Report Share Posted November 29, 2004 [ QUOTE ] SO WEVE EARNED IT ITS OUR TURN!!!! Â [/ QUOTE ] Â Â lol...well it's Region IV's turn to host...you can't "earn" something that is already pre-decided...no matter who would have come out of Region IV or their record, they were to host this year. Â I'd say you are good to go, the only thing I can see them moving it for would be the seating and you guys have plenty of that, so I'd say you are ok on the field issues. Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted November 29, 2004 How do Virginia fans feel about rotating regional championship sites each year as opposed to awarding to the most deserving team? I'm not saying either Richlands or Salem isn't deserving, but I believe the team with the higher rating should host such a game. Just my opinion though, I look forward to hearing the opinion of others on the subject...
BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted November 29, 2004 I agree. The games should be played @ the highest rated team.
Lance 228 Report Share Posted November 30, 2004 I think they should do everyting off points ratings...playoff spots and field selection...whole nine yards...you should be able to host the State Game at your house if you are the best team...
