Is Marion that good or just have a lightweight schedule?

A little of both from what I gather. Havent played any really great teams but have beat some solid teams. And from what I've read and heard, Marion is a very solid team that executes well and has some playmakers.

Edit-We will find out about them, they still have to play Graham, Richlands, and VA High. Lebanon next week for them. They'll crush GC. Likely finish 8-2 or 7-3.

You're probably right. I've seen more people posting points this year than ever. Can't all be right. Haha

I know at least some of those are wrong... Tunstall and Alleghany have .66667 on the end of theirs... to get that kind of average you'd have to have played 3 or 6 games, and Tunstall and Alleghany have both played 4 games.  Lol

Are your numbers for 2A the same as numbers I found?

You're probably closer regardless.

Thanks.  Yeah, I posted in the Shoutbox where I was off.  Only region where I had every team matching theirs was 1D.  Some of the teams I was off on play NC schools, so maybe NC schools are treated differently when it comes to calculating them or something.  Who knows?

I'm telling you, it's more likely you are correct, because the VHSL is notoriously wonky with out-of-state calculations.  I've never seen an initial points calculation that didn't go through at least 1 round of revision.

For D-2 I have exactly what VHSL has with the exception of Grayson. Looks like VHSL is not giving Alleghany, NC credit for one of their 3 victories.

Marion 5-0 112 22.4
Union 5-0 104 20.8
Ridgeview 4-1 103 20.6
Va High 3-1 79 19.75
Graham 3-1 77 19.25
Battle, John 3-2 89 17.8
Lee 3-2 83 16.6
Grayson Co 2-3 75 15
Richlands 1-3 58 14.5
Central-Wise 2-3 70 14
Lebanon 1-3 48 12
Tazewell 1-4 58 11.6
Gate City 0-5 55 11

Alleghany, NC is actually 4-1 on the season.  The football season in North Carolina starts a week prior to Virginia.  VHSL has missed that opening game each of the past few years when calculating the first power points.

I would speak to learning from mistakes and all of that but........it's the VHSL!

They are, but VHSL doesn't count the first game because NC plays an 11 game schedule. That's my understanding at least. I only count the games on the VHSL master schedule. According to that, Alleghany is 3-1, but they're still not counting one of those. Last year it took them until week 9 I think to county Grundy's game against River View, WV. Who knows? haha

Bishop McGuinness is a private school, should be the game they aren't counting for Alleghany.  They don't have a division listing for BM on the master schedule.

That makes sense. Seems like I remember that from last year.
