Due to better academics I am not FROM Abingdon

The problem with Washington County is there are no boundaries enforced. Our high school offers more programs than the smaller schools so every tom, dick, and Polly the piccolo player can come to Abingdon as long as they start there in 9 th grade. Right now we get a bunch do to better academic programs. I for one in the future will be recruiting. I mean encouraging athletes to come from those schools here to playLol

How about Washington County School board changing its policy and making kids that live outside of Abingdon go to JB, Holston, and PH. UNLESS they can play football Lol

Sorry. Had to vent. Washington county. Schools let out a half a day for kids to go to the Fair. It is a money racket. Our boys got out of school at noon then had to play at 7:30. They sit in the field house and come out dead year after year. A win is a win but our friends from the Claypool Hill area would have beat us by 40 tonight

Screw Washington county fair day!!! Bullcrap from the past that interferes with football. The WORST I have seen from this group since 2012. Antiquated crap that should be ended

THE GROUP are now juniors. Biggest improvements in Abingdon have been in coaching and administration. Kids have been here for a while. I wish the best for Marion as we have been there and done that.

Closer than the score represents. I thought the lightning delay was heaven sent for Abingdon. Seemed like the momentum was ready to swing back to GC before that. Good young team.

VHS guy. The WORST was I think in 2011 when the game was stopped for 30-45 minutes during the VHS and Abingdon game for truck haulers and fireworks for the race fans. Really changed the tempo of the game.

Actually 52-0 in 2013. Our juniors were freshmen dressed for their first varsity game. Good turning point for our program. This group hopes to reciprocate very shortly

Sleeping nuts, I agree totally with your assessment. Both coaches are buddies from E&H. Our QB was questionable to play until Thursday. Had some back spasm issues I think. After what happened to your kid last year, that lost a season, I think the coaches showed some class with the no QB contact rule. #11 would have been disruptive without it for sure!!! Thanks for a good clean scrimmage. Would love to get good enough to see you guys in November or December

Abingdon had about 35 or so at 2A. Hope the next half of this decade in 3A will be better. Who knows? Lol
