Bears win another close one, 41-38 over Honaker. Wasn't very pretty basketball but a W is a W. Union was able to get out in transition just enough to win. Bears have a serious rebounding problem, when the younger Anderson went out with foul trouble tonight, Honaker took control of the game inside. Union is going to have to get more rebounding out of it's guards.
First time I've seen them was last night and couldn't believe how small they are. Gonna have to play good D and out hustle everyone to have a good season
The key is going to be for Creasy to find a way to buy some time. Ridgeview swarmed him pretty well in the first quarter then adjustments were made. Graham had a great defense and some wrong choice on stop go routes made things look that much worse. Again caused by not having enough time. I'm looking quite forward to it and will just have to wait and see. Part I dread the most is finding somewhere to park. I remember how much fun that was the last time down there.
On a side note I'll be quite interested to see if they fixed all the things I complained about down there, everybody says they did 🙂lol
Park on the end where the little league fields are about an hour early but stop and get your ticket at main gate because they wasn't selling tickets on that end last week
The JV kid can ball from all indications, why not keep Bostic at WR where he’s so dangerous and let the youngster learn on the fly? Next year may not be great but imagine 2025 with Bostic Huff and Bunch are SR
I think we'll be better next season than this season if we get decent QB play. Lot of kids returning and I agree I'd let the JV kid play and leave Bostic at WR but I don't get a vote.
Nosey much? Rumor has it that Concord offered all you can eat pepperoni rolls freshman year and Bridgewater was leaning towards a six pack of Busch light and a jar of pickled eggs. Haven't heard what the Pennsylvania school is willing to come off of yet. Gonna start a bidding war it seems!
If Tazewell beats Graham would they move into 2nd? Graham down to 3rd or 4th?
Don't think u need to worry about that one. Getting your RB healthy now has made Graham the favorites imo. Hopefully if Union Graham play again we can move it to Bluefield to give us away field advantage lol!!!!
This game is super interesting to me. If RV wins going away, I feel much better about Union going to Abingdon. If this is a dog fight or Falcons wins, I’m gonna be real worried when Union goes to the Nest.
Radford’s average is being determined by 9 games where as Unions is only 8. While the average looks close, Radford has around 29 more total points than Union.
Gotcha!!! Hopefully if Union makes it thru the region someones done beat Radford but doesn't seem likely from the scores I'm seeing from them
Not sure who Radford has left but you'd think Union with 2 games left with one of them vs a 3A school they could jump Radford but from what I've read here its almost impossible to catch them. Assuming this is the correct points
What if I told you guys that it was ok to play in the rain?
I think it's more for the fans. Can't speak for everyone but at Union the hardcore fans are all that shows up in the rain. Alot of our fans are older so they just listen on radio
Just going by previous games against same opponents. This will be a crap shoot. They played Ridgeview and Union already to pretty much the same score. Both teams are let downs.
Only thing Union Lee only made it to halftime. Both are terrible so should be a good game
WCYB can't get out of it's own way. This is simple.....when you schedule your SWVA coverage START by circling the Union-Ridgeview game first and then fill in the rest. They didn't cover a good game last year or this year and they've opted for Union-Central several times.
Not a lot to choose from this week in the viewing area on either side of the state line that would be considered top games. Eastside/TS and GC/Lee may have the most potential and I dont think either would have been on the preseason radar for that.
Yeah seen that 200+ schools have their bye week in TN. this week
Considering what Union has this year, going to be scary the next two years. If QB is senior, that's a big loss, unless replaced by another mobile QB. Next years QB could have a team that is overall better around him at 10 positions on offense next year, but if he is not mobile, that can hurt. Said this earlier, what makes Union so difficult is obviously multiple things (damn good football players all over the place) but that mobile and crazy elusive QB just puts the Bears on an elite level imo.
It's probably gonna be Bostic #2 who plays QB next season who is very fast ask Ridgeview kids on the screen pass. But keep hearing Travis talking about the JV QB so could be him.
Haha…I don’t see that happening! Bears are rolling! I think some people just talk sometimes to hear their own voice & don’t really know much but think they do 😂😂😂. People that know football know don’t talk about getting a state title until you’re headed to Salem. Too many things can happen between now & December. I guess there’s zero chance of that miracle upset this Friday up at Wise Walmart ? 😂😂😂
We struggle up there for some reason but I don't see any miracles happening.
I have a buddy from Norton, he said there are a lot of people chattering about “this is the year!” I don’t think it’s our friends on this board but probably other locals. I don’t blame them for being excited. It would an awesome accomplishment for Union & Coach Turner. I’m just over here hoping the GMen make it by Pulaski next week and somehow Central pulls a miracle 😂😂😂.
Lol I don't know anyone talking about it. All I'm hearing is Graham will beat our butts next meeting
After a few games, what's your thoughts
