Lol. Interested in seeing how the three CMC teams do in Gatlinburg this week. We certainly got the toughest first round draw I believe with Elizabethton.

Lol. I'm trying to be Mr. Optimistic here. Truth be told, I'm not going to be surprised if our last win of the season was Monday night. They did look a little better Monday night, but man, they miss WAAAAAAAAYYYYY too many shots in close. Shots that are must converts.

Richlands doesn't have a "play in" game, so they won't be done till at least the second night. :) I seen that Bell County was 4-6, so maybe Ridgeview stands a chance with them potentially. They beat Thomas Walker by 24. Not sure what Thomas Walker has this year though.

That's who it was... my bad. I remember their quarterfinal game the team they played got T'd up several times. They did play Dorsey in that tournament also didn't they?

I would make a smart ass comment about Hurley girls, but there was this hot Hurley girl who always beat me in forensics back in my high school days.

That's what I was wondering. I figure there will be for at least the 8 teams that play in the quarters, but like for Ridgeview who will probably lose to Bell County in one of the "play in" games, so to speak, will they get more than one game.

Council is the only SWVa team to win in the first round that I know of, but it was Tennessee High that they beat. They nearly pulled a shocking upset over LA Dorsey in the quarters, but lost a close one in the end.

Yeah... next thing you know, Ridgeview will be beating Gate City in the Blue Devil den.................................. Nah, not happening.

Fail... I had thought about going to the first day of the tournament, but not going to pay $10 to see Ridgeview annihilated by Bell County. Oh... just noticed the first day is on the 27th which would've conflicted with the Arby's anyway... so wouldn't have gone either way. Lol There is also the Smoky Mountain Classic in Gatlinburg this week, which Ridgeview, Wise Central and Gate City girls will be competing in. 32 girls teams and 24 boys teams I believe. That's got to be some kind of record for teams in one tournament, albeit the girls have four separate brackets and the boys three separate brackets. Ridgeview's bracket consists of: Westview, Greeneville, Forest, Gatlinburg-Pittman and Elizabethton from Tennessee, Jackson County and Pike County Central from Kentucky. Wise Central's bracket consists of: Floyd County from Virginia, Owen County and Hardin Central from Kentucky, Pigeon Forge, Smith County and East Hickman from Tennessee, and Wren from South Carolina. Gate City's bracket consists of: Betsy Layne, South Laurel, South Floyd, Perry County Central, and Wayne County from Kentucky, and Sevier County and Station Camp from Tennessee.

The first part of the statement is correct I believe. What happens to the Region D winner afterwards remains a mystery.

Is Knox Christian and CAK the same school or two different ones? CAK was in the Arby's a couple of years ago, they had a boy make like 15 or 16 threes in one game which set the record I think.

Yeah, I knew Sports World was perilously close to the fires, but I also thought I read that they temporarily used it as shelter for those displaced by the fires also, so must not have been too damaged.

The tournament is in Gatlinburg. Apparently Gatlinburg Pittman High School has two gyms and the other gym is at Rocky Top Sports World. The entire tournament is spread out over the three gyms.

I have been searching for quite awhile for the bracket for the Gatlinburg tournament that the Ridgeview girls are playing in next week, and I finally found them this morning. Anyone ever been to this tournament before? Why are there four separate girls brackets? I do like that Ridgeview, Gate City and Wise Central were all placed in separate brackets. I do NOT like that Ridgeview will probably be annihilated in their first game by Elizabethton however. Lol.

Will be hard for Virginia High to finish anywhere in the CM, when they're not even in it. ;) Lol

A buddy of mine from Radford told me on Saturday in Salem that the second game between Martinsville and Radford got cancelled.

Might want to drop Dan River out of your 2A top 5. They lost 47-41 to Chatham last night.

So, if you lose in this tournament on Wednesday night, you're done? No losers bracket games or anything? That sucks. I think the UVA-Wise tournament the week after Christmas is the same way though. Ridgeview will probably be one and done. They play Bell County in the first round.

I would say this play linked above would be it. Only other things I can think of are the 2 point conversion against Galax in 2014, the FG by Allen Owens as time expired against PV in 2005, or the game winning TD pass against Clintwood in the final seconds in 2013. (I missed that 2013 Clintwood game because I injured my knee at work that same week, so I have still never seen this play, but would love to)
