I love how it's been three years now and people, even around here, still can't get Ridgeview correct. What do you do? Just chuckle about it and go on. It's like the people who call Richlands, Rich-luns. Or called Haysi, Hay-see. Funniest one though was when I was in a gas station once in Abingdon and someone clearly from out of town asked me, "Hey, how do you pronounce this town name? A-big-dong?" I couldn't stop laughing for like 2 hours straight.

The crowds were around 10,000 or so back when they used to play the D1 & D2 1A Region D title games over there many years ago. But there were a lot of people standing though or in their vehicles behind the pressbox watching the game and staying warm.

I look forward to passing all those slow Richlands drivers with their Blue Tornado car flags on Alt 58 between Hansonville and Norton that night on my way to Shelby Valley. :D

I haven't read the capsules yet, but upon first glance, obviously the first thing that raises an eyebrow is JSB predicted ahead of Gate City. Also, the Ridgeview team I saw at Lebanon a couple of weeks ago is the best I have seen them look. If we're still not projected to finish ahead of Lee High or out of the cellar for that matter, then this district must be the toughest 2A district in Virginia top to bottom.

No problem man. I talked to some of the Giles faithful at the Richlands/Graham playoff game last year that were much nicer. And I never had an issue when Giles visited Haysi those three times either.

A lot of trash talking by their fans after the game, plus one annoying guy parked on the Giles side of the field with his lights on bright the whole game. I would say the weather also, but I think the wind would've been blowing that bad practically everywhere in the area that night.

Didn't get to see the game because I was at the race... but Ridgeview varsity outscored Burton 27-14. Burton JV outscored Ridgeview 14-0.

I hope my first trip to Pearisburg in 2015 was the last one. Lol.

I talked to a Dickenson County school board member a few days ago that was predicting 7-3 for Ridgeview with the 3 losses being to Union, Gate City and Abingdon. I feel that is extremely optimistic. The first goal should be winning a district game, something we didn't do last season. I think the non-district schedule is very winnable, so that's 4 wins. Then perhaps beating John Battle and Lee could get us to 5-5 or 6-4 and a low seed for the Region D playoffs. That's what I am leaning to.

My question is: Save Mary's Meadows? or Play Ball on Mary's Meadows? Probably only people in Crap-ingdon or us Food City folk would understand this question.

Yeah, when I saw the Tweets coming in on this game, my eyebrows were raised a little, but seeing the starters only played a half that explains things a little better.

Sullivan East looked pretty bad last night as well. Their players ran into each other twice fielding kickoffs very similar to what you would see in baseball with two outfielders chasing a fly ball. And they ran into each other on defense as well missing an interception, instead being a Johnson County completion for a big gain.
