  1. I was impressed with the respect that the Bluefied players and coaches showed throughout the game. There was no cheap shots, trash talk, late hits or anything. Even walking over and shaking hands with our injured players after the game. Outside of the score, I felt the game was just opportunities for Tazewell kids to really play against competition for measure. I thought Tazewell had a good flow offensively compared to previous games.

Use this as a scrimmage and practice on different things.  Try out the other QB and see what can make of it.  Let Nunley be the RB and Mullins throw it.  See what happens with that and make adjustments for the following weeks.  I just hope that they don't get to discouraged having two tough games back to back.

You'll probably get to see part of that.

Back to the topic of Graham vs. Tazewell.  I was wondering what some of the fellow Tazewell supporters thought of the game plan against Graham.  I watched Bluefield have success against Graham by having the QB in the shotgun and getting rid of the ball very fast.  Tazewell's plays developed too slow and the QB was in trouble from the time he touched the ball.  I didn't see any adjustments and it didn't seem that Tazewell had prepared for that fast defense at all.  Bluefield, on the other hand had a game plan for Graham's aggressive Defense and got rid of the ball quickly.  Also, Davis was able to get to the edge when the defense of Graham over-pursued and break a couple of long runs.

Tazewell rarely adjusts, especially on offense (it seems). I believe Graham felt they could press the receivers because they knew they could force the QB to throw early or run, which what happened for Tazewell so it was a good plan.  Tazewell got smacked good I would like to see how they respond Friday, hopefully last week is a memory and they move forward and be ready.  As for my opinion on transfers, nothing is going to stop it and if the schools are going to roll with it then I believe everyone else should as well.

Why would there be a game day change when it is supposed to be 84 and sunny?  Your hearing something?

There is a possibility the day may be changed due to the baseball game.  One year they just changed the starting time from 7 to 8, they're waiting on VHS to confirm which is better.

Nunley and not Mullens?  I figured Nunley to be a target at receiver, along with Honaker.  Although, Nunley is a smart kid and good athlete too.  Tazewell has a lot of talent on the field.

That's what I see happening.  I'm sure once the real practice starts anything can happen.

  6. For Tazewell I believe Nunley will get the starting nod to begin the season. Both kids are young and have the RB tandem of Harris and Jones to fall back on, also Jordan to use in any position. Tazewell’s first half of the season will really test this group, especially the young lineman. But to have a plug and play type of QB as Tazewell has can be useful, IMO.

If the hard work they have put in this off season carries over to the season, you could be right. These kids have busted their ass in the weight room!

It appears that the number of kids coming out grows each week, there is some excitement for Tazewell,  I agree with Hokie1Pokie, 7-3 at best and 5-5 at worst.
