Yes I agree, like I stated it's hard for kids to understand the difference between a good clean foul, and a cheap intentional foul. The pushing of McClung was not a good foul and it looks awful, the foul on Lester was awful and in my opinion was just an all out cheap shot, no matter if Dean had been pestered all night long, that's not how you react, and this was early in the game.
I've also seen a video of a kid from Central during the regular season game be shoved into the mat under the goal, and no foul was called and nothing said......

Looks like DB doubled and tripled team Ervin and Dean and shut their point production down... not sure if Va schools can follow that pattern but it wouldn't hurt to try.. thoughts anyone?

The first category in my original post lists players I have seen. Which should be self explanatory given the heading of that grouping of players in my original post reads "The one's I have seen play in no particular order." The second category is clearly labeled "The following were either 1st or 2nd Team All-State a year ago as underclassmen." I took that information directly from the VHSLCA flyer distributed in late March. Bailey Frazier is listed as a senior in that email. If that isn't the case, the reigning Class 2 State Player of the Year would be most deserving of any list of top players from our region. Dee Cvetnich was not selected as an All-State performer last season which, given the heading of the second grouping of players on my list, would disqualify her from said list.

For those interested the FCA Game has been moved from Emory to Dobyns Bennett High School because of field conditions at Emory. Game will still be Sat at 1pm.
First off, Congratulations to all the kids getting to play in the 2 games.
But I wonderwhat the criteria is for selectingthe kids who get to play in the VHSCA & FCA All-Star games is.
I noticed kids (Seniors) from ourarea who made 2nd Team Region D are playing in the VHSCA event while some 1st team selections(Seniors) were left out.
I also noticed in the FCA event that a 1st Team Region D kid (Senior) was not selected, while 3 of his teammates who didn't make 1st Team were selected. I know this kid was really looking forward to getting a chance to play in this one.
That seems kinda odd to me.
Think the young man your referring to got in.. but a little late.
Best wishes to Chilhowie! Beat the Red Storm troopers! Force 4 turnovers in key moments of the game and take advantage of those! We are cheering for you!

Not sure on the VHSL Game.. The FCA game is coached by Coach Crist of Va High and Michael Mays of Tenn High coaching the East and Shawn Witten of Elizabethton coaching the West. Both teams have Va and Tenn players making up the roster.
