  1. It might have been, I could be thinking last year... someone else may have to be your go to source. I know the game with Mann was postponed. Update: their FB pages shows win over RV 40-0 & 1-0 on season.
  2. I believe they beat Riverview 40-0 in season opener. I'm not really sure that says much. I don't know the answers to your other questions.
  3. I wasn't at the game but my first thought is what did his son do leading up to that? I highly doubt the Gate City player did that out of the blue for no apparent reason. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the other player but I'd bet the Richlands kid had a big hand in what came his way. Even as a parent when you're the administrator, you gotta be better than the average Joe parent. Just my opinion, like I said I hope cooler minds prevail this Friday on the field & the sidelines and it's a friendly competitive game with no injuries for either team.
  4. Either way escorted off field or out of the stadium, a bit embarrassing when you're the principal. Hopefully, cooler heads prevail this Friday.
  5. Can we close this thread already? Asking for a friend...
  6. Honestly, I think a lot of it against Tazewell had to do with lack of practice & reps but we do seem to get a lot of flags the first few gsmes even in a normal season. They usually work out the kinks. Continuity is hard when a team gets quarantined and you continue to have players here & there get quarantined again. Lucky is the tram that hasn’t been affected by the Covid quarantine crap shoot! Hopefully, the GMen look much better this Friday night.
  7. If they could keep that strategy up until October 1st, I’d really appreciate it and so would GMen coaching staff I’m sure! 😂😂😂😂
  8. I’m hoping they clean up the penalties and definitely cannot afford any ejections. An ejection in Central game cost them a starter in 2019 against Appomattox. With Covid and never knowing who may get quarantined, as many players as possible are needed. No excuses for getting ejected. If we see another 17 penalties, that will bode well for Richlands and probably Union both. I’m trusting our coaching staff to get ‘er done this week!!!
  9. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/us/virginia-covid-cases.html https://www.mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-covid-19/map/virginia Zoom in on the map, the counties bordering WV are glorified hot spots. I’m in shock Tazewell, Bland, Giles, etc. haven’t switched to remote learning.
  10. Let’s just face it, fall is turning crazier than spring. This season is a Covid crap shoot worse than a few short months ago. At this point, who knows what will happen the next few weeks. Regular season & playoffs ….it’s just going to be a mess. I hope I’m wrong.
  11. Word on the street, Chris Akers😂😂😂
  12. Like I said craziest thing I’ve ever seen …3 consecutive false starts blew my mind…I thought man, it’s going to be a long night. When a team racks up more penalty yards than the opposing team does offensively, that’s crazy. I bet those boys did a lot of running today down Bluefield way.
  13. If true, that explains the phenomenon of three consecutive false starts in that first possession , I guess. Never seen anything like that first Graham possession in my life. Crazy!
  14. I’m sure you Appo folks do, lol! Just picking at ya!
  15. Coming off nearly two weeks without practice & playing games is hard. It’s the new normal for high school football these days though. Lucky is the team that hasn’t had to deal with quarantining or Covid protocols involving the team.
  16. The score doesn’t reflect it but Tazewell handled Graham pretty well overall last night. Tazewell has some great athletes especially in Mullens & Harris. I hate they lost the other kid to ACL injury. Their freshman QB is going to be great with more experience and a stronger line to give him more time. Tazewell gets the much needed win this week.
  17. Will it be another yellow flagged event for Graham? Competitive game? Does Graham find much needed discipline? How does Richlands do coming off quarantine with little practice?
  18. I agree with Mountain Football, downright embarrassing; 17 penalties, not kneeling for injured player, a player picking up a flag & throwing it, not every player in the locker room after the game…our boys have to be better than that. However. the talent & depth overflowing IF Graham can knock off the rust, avoid anymore quarantines, and gain much needed discipline; they could be unstoppable. Right now, Graham is their own worst obstacle to going deep in the playoffs. I hope we don’t have these same issues next week. In 2018 they started out very undisciplined & seemed to start clicking about game four of five. I hope they start clicking 2nd game this year.
  19. Can't disagree with anything you said. Dawgs have a lot of heart. Graham has a lot of work to do.
  20. If Graham holds on, it's what I'd call an "ugly" win. I've been impressed with Tazewell's defense. Their QB is going to be something else. Our offense, good grief! Flinching almost everytime. Graham has lots of work to do.
  21. Forget to pay the bill? But yeah, lights need to be coming on by now. And someone said "Let there be lights"
  22. That had to be an accidental punt to Bradshaw. Most teams know better. He's unreal. Those jets can fly.
  23. Graham not looking good ... attention to detail is needed! Good grief! 🤷‍♂️🤦
  24. The Brown kid is out due to injury broken fibulae, maybe don’t quote me on that and I heard another starter out not sure why.
