  1. Week 1 saw some surprises, anybody see any Week 2 surprises?
  2. I'm not seeing 9-0 for Richlands after last week but anything is possible I guess. Kicker probably best in the state but he alone can't win games.
  3. I'm.not blaming loss on refs because Graham was sloppy, turned it over, etc. The officials were terrible, however. Congratulations to Bluefield.
  4. Radford wins not sure by how.much.
  5. Union wins decisively which is what most expected. Big on the line doesn't always mean better. Smaller & fast beats big & slow in my book. Big & fast beats everything, lol.
  6. Agree, those WV officials were horrible. I've never seen such an awful job of officiating. Yes Graham.was sloppy and undisciplined but it was hard to play Bluefield and the officials. I'm not making excuses for the GMen but there was no way, that crew was going to give them a break or fairly call the game. I give kudos to the boys, they kept fighting until the final whistle. I'm also happy that Tazewell looks to have a good season. They've had the talent and now seems to be clicking. I see them battling for 2nd in SWD. I'd love to see Tazewell County teams 1,2, & 3 in SWD when regular season ends.
  7. I say within two scores. Richlands has to have a lot of field goals to come out on top. Field goals can win games but not if the other team answers with TDs. I don't see Blues shutting down Union's offense enough to prevent them from getting those TDs. Forrest is a weapon but turnovers may kill Richlands unless they clean up offensive play.
  8. Graham wins, Tazewell has a good showing though. I definitely think Tazewell wins more than they lose regular season.
  9. Graham had too many turn overs & penalties on offense. Lester was great but need work on offensive side of the ball. He can't do it all. O Line was weak although Brody Meadows went toe to toe with Martin. There were some great plays and runs on offense just sloppy and undisciplined. Defense held up well against a very talented Blufield but will continue to improve. I'm not predicting they play for a state title although that's my hope and think they have the potential if they clean things up (they could have won last night) but I still see them as forerunner in SWD & region.
  10. Week 1 in the books! Take aways from your team's performance... surprised? Disappointed? What needs work? What was good? What y'all got?
  11. Agree for the most part, I think D will be fine and did a great job at times. Lester gave it 110% for sure. Discipline and sloppiness certainly an issue for both teams and yes, officiating was horrendous, the refs weren't letting Bluefield lose this game, lol. The targeting call was just a bad call. Contact was made with his shoulder, clean block. I don't feel like the score really reflected the evenness of the game play. I thought though Bluefield has more talent, Graham held their own. If they hadn't had the turnovers, they may have pulled it out in spite of the bad calls. I see both teams only getting better. Hard physical & emotional first game out of the gate.
  12. 41-27 Bluefield 6:00 left Seems like every time Graham scores, Bluefield answers with a long run.
  13. 34-27Bluefield... Graham not giving in the towel yet.
  14. Crazy!!! I joked GC would upset Richlands...who knew? But man, Richlands' kicker is gold!!!! Congratulations to Gate City! Big win at Ernie Hicks!
  15. I disagree, Grahsm's defense is not doing badly. I believe Beavers had one score was on a fumble by offense and at least one run back from punt. Bluefield has some speed though.
  16. 28-20 Bluefield 11:53 left 11:39 left 34-20
  17. Officiating lacks a lot to be desired.
  18. 28-13 Bluefield 3:40 left in 3rd... Score not telling how close game really is...Graham has had two TDs called back. Bluefield got a TD but fumbled in end zone from my viewpoint & Graham recovered but Beavera awarded TD. Graham's defense much better than the game last year against Bluefield.
  19. 21-13 Bluefield over Graham. Halftime
  20. Bluefield 14-6 11:47 2nd Quarter
  21. Bluefield 14-0, 7:18 left in 1st quarter. Gov. Jim Justice brought a big bell that is rung every time Bluefield scores at their games, moving tribute before the game.
  22. They said during show , they'd be available via podcast but won't be on radio this year. Not sure if it's up & going yet as far as podcast download, maybe inquire on their FB page.
