What is wrong with gc?..read not one,but two letters to the editor in Kingsport Times the past week and that is a big reason we are down like we are. You are only as strong as your leaders. You got the super’s wife being rude to a 91 year old who been buying season tickets since 1963 and then you got fat man coming out to yell at him. All the while principal lane sits in his office and don’t have a care in the world. He don’t care about gc football, as a matter of fact his Nickelsville roots are probably glad gc failing. How bad will ab run up the score on the old head coach? What will the home teams reaction be to his return?

I hope he gets back too....he has a chance to make a lot of money for the cause.

The AD destroys anything he is involved in, the coach does not know football, and the principal does not care. Those three things combined is why we are where we are. Oh, and the school board let it all happen. It won’t change until some major personnel changes are made.

Heard from a few people around Lynchburg that Akers has applied for multiple teaching and coaching positions in and around the area....maybe he smarter than GC folks give him credit for

The school board knows the concerns....they don't care. Scott county football 2-28. The county is dying (not just football) and the people in charge would rather be in charge of a sinking ship then not be in charge of anything.

Same staff, same administration, same results for Gate City....The longer Roberts and Akers are there, the harder it is going to be on the next guys to fix it. There are 10 schools that are happy akers is staying and that is the 10 schools gate city is playing next year. Good luck gc football...it will get worse before it gets better

Who GC's coach next year?

no school system will ever hire Sensabaugh, I don't know why he would want to put up with it all anyway. Coaching in the 21st century has too much baggage.

Who will be GC's coach next year?....no way Akers be back. The AD that hired him needs to go also. It is a shame. The hard work of so many wasted by the arrogance and ignorance of so few.

It is at its lowest peak ever.... the GC score is inacceptable...they have quit. Both coaches and players. Worst two weeks of football I have seen in over 40 years. Pack it in....start the coaching search. Somebody young, knowledgeable and who can relate and understand to todays players. Same for AD....he has created most of this. There is no argument. This year's performances speak for themselves.

Abingdon is as good team in Southwest Va. They don't have Colobro coaching or Sturgill at QB, and they should be undefeated ( loss to a good Pulaski team). They playing a 3A schedule...that don't sound weak to me

Not saying anything bad about the kid....just referencing that when you are 0-5 a lot more injuries occur
